DS2 (my third child), hands down. He's more work than the other three combined. He was also the easiest baby, hands down. Go figure...

DD1 was the hardest as a baby (very volatile, didn't sleep well, cried a lot, didn't nurse well, etc. etc. etc.), but she gets easier every year.

DS1 was on the easy side of average, I think. He's very easy, as teenagers go.

And, dd2? Honestly, if she'd be willing to nap anywhere but on me, she'd be perferct.

They're both equally challenging in different ways. DS2 simply because he's 4 and he's so much like his dad. Not that dh and I don't get along great, but they both react the same way and feed off of my emotions and moods the same way. And ds2's also my cling-on so having someone on my heels, talking non-stop wears me out.

DS1 is just like me and we do clash because of that. But other than that, he's pretty easy. But he's also 8, very mature and independent.

I couldn't vote because I have 2--Erica, #2, and Dylan, #4. Both because of their personalities, not because of birth order. Both would have been a challenge no matter their birth order or even if they had been only children. There is a reason why there is 4 years between Erica and Angela. Dylan has been more of a handful that the 3 girls put together. It is no picnic raising a gifted child. And, ime, raising gifted girls has been easier than raising a gifted boy. But that could be because he's an only child and the girls had each other even if they didn't always get along.

They take turns. And, they are each "difficult" for their own unique reasons. Thankfully, they are not typically all difficult on the same day.

Well, it varies from day to day lol... but consistently it would have to be DD1. She's always had anxiety issues and everything has to be a particular way. Sometimes I find myself letting her down because I'm trying to get things done for the others, and other days it's like she's my number one focus and everyone else has to get through as best they can.

Maybe it's more the guilt than her actual needs that I find challenging. Hmmmm. Must think about that some more!

Definitely #1 out of 4 dc's. He is by far my most challenging. While the other 3 have "normal", "age-appropriate" issues that aren't necessarily pleasant to deal with, ds1's issues are always so much over the top and extreme. It's exhausting some days.

Number one hands down no question. We always say he was born screaming and hasn't stopped (he's 9). He is and always has been extremely challenging. My 2 year old is more easy going and flexible.
