Prodromal stuff and waiting for labour thread - Page 3

I woke up with a fat whitehead on the corner of my nose. Birth is imminent! Like sometime in the next week. Around my due date.

feeling some squeezes, but I'm sure I've got another 2 weeks to go at least. Love reading all of your updates! Nice to see that they do produce babies, like mamakaikai. I've forgotten about all the impending labour signs.

Interesting how the prodromal stuff can turn on and then off again so dramatically for some of us. Me included.

Ugh. TIghtening all night, and some stronger squeezes this morning. Part of me wants it to be the real thing, but I'm supposed to take ds and his cousin to the beach today, so kind of want to hold off until this evening. I'll take it when I can though. Starting to get some anxiety about the whole process, so the sooner the better, though I'm not due for 10 days.

How should I handle this -
I was present for the births of my friends two youngest. I had told her offhand that if I had another, she could come to the birth, since she's never been able to do that. However, now that the time is approaching, I'm thinking I really don't want anyone else in the room with dw and I. She keeps reminding me that I have to call her asap so she doesn't miss the birth, and I kind of keep going along with it. I don't want to hurt her feelings -she had a party of us in her room with her last. She meeting me at the beach, so i can only imagine if my water were to break, there would be no avoiding her and pretending it happened to quickly to call!!

More ouchies yesterday...until they were downright painful by bedtime. Husband and I DTD...and it was really obvious that something was happening because there was a lot of cervix ouchs during that. I woke up in the middle of the night in a panic and laundry had to be done that moment!! lol.

Saw my MW today...she wants to check..I said no. She wants to stretch and sweep..i said no...i really don't condone that practice at all.

I lost a pound and she could feel babies head really low under my pubic bone. I'm 38 weeks and measured 33!!! Wow. I knew by this morning that all my pains yesterday was lightening and engagement. She also detected some blood in my urine..although i haven't seen any. Could be from having sex yesterday could be stuff getting started. No pains today though <sigh>

I'm going to keep on with my business...no feelings of baby on the way just yet!!1

37 weeks and my pelvic pain went away a couple day ago after months of it...yeah...Had one HUGE long painful had to breath through contraction Tuesday at 12:22 am. Was shocked but then nothing else...lol

Lots of soft stools only get BH when going to bed. Sex and orgasm doesn't even do anything. Babies head has been very low for a very long time. About 3 cm...very effaced.Only 5 more weeks to go lol. I think my massive eating is making this baby big. Even though her head is only knuckles deep her butt is still up to my ribs. I think she is going to be my biggest.

Oh I think what made my pelvis stop hurting was we started be able to have sex again on all fours. It was like a freaking miracle. Makes the pregnancy much more bearable I thought I would die before from the pain. Yeah for doggie style...lol

Oh and everynight I have been back to having weird dreams like in the first trimester.

Midwife home visit this morning and everything looks good. She offered to do a check but I declined. She said baby is super low and she assumes I'm about 3cm. She thinks that baby isn't as overly huge as I thought since my belly is only measuring 38cm. I was worried the baby was going to be a 10lb minimum. But she thought by feeling it doesn't feel that big. Gettiing so anxious to meet this babe. We've got a full week of things planned so I'm assuming just because of that he/she will come between now and Sunday cause isn't that how it always works? :

Did you go to the beach?
I would advise being honest because you're not really saying you don't want her, you just don't want anyone except for DW. You're not excluding her from a party.....

I've had bouts of contractions off and on but I think they're more related to hydration than anything else, I'm due the 19th and baby is at -1. Did a cervix check and I'm "high and tight" so no real signs yet. I look like I'm ready to pop though! Spent the entire day yesterday at an amusement park for my 9yo's bday-my ankles have NEVER been so swollen! I was up every hour last night peeing BUCKETS. Argh!

LOL! Good luck expat!

I'm still the same... honestly no matter how many early labour signs i have i think i'm going to go overdue... like way overdue... again. My EDD was yesterday so now the countdown begins.

That's how I feel...so many pains, especially in the evening and at bedtime...but (and this is nice)...for the first time really this pregnancy, I'm falling asleep and staying asleep without waking once till morning. I just wiggle and squirm and breath through some ouchies, they go away and I crash. Funny. I really don't want to be late this time either...<sigh> but not getting my hopes too high that I won't!

Mamas I just wanted to say I'm reading along and giving everyone big hugs .

After a freaky night of prodromal labour earlier in the week it's been nothing except crickets chirping over here. Hmm.

Well it is officially PAST my due date! Today I'm 40+1 and it's been a few days since I felt ANYTHING besides some light cramping, pressure and nothing-to-write-home-about braxton hicks. I lost my mucous plug (or thought I did!) but I keep shedding more and more nasty gooey stuff. But that's all that is going on.
I feel like my uterus has just up and decided to go on vacation. I'm done with stressing about it...well at least I'm trying to be done stressing. Now I have to concentrate on fighting off my doctor who wants to induce next Thursday for no apparent reason other than I'll be 41 weeks.
Anyway, nothing prodromal going on here, but I'm following you ladies closely because at this point, you're all likely to pop before me!

I think I can join this club today! Last night I had 30 sec contractions every 3 minutes from about 9 until I decided to sleep at midnight (I think they continued through the night)...I kept having contractions this morning, but they may be tapering off about now....they're strong but farther apart.

I ended up going to the hpspital for a check yesterday since baby wasn't moving much (especially compared to the day before), so between the internal check there, nursing my son, and sex, I've definitely been stimulating things. I'm kind of nauseous, but also hungry...

Who knows...could be this weekend, could be 2 more weeks....

Yup, that's what's so frustrating about it. But it's so much like parenting... there's so much we CAN'T control, and we have to give it up and go with the flow...

After days of stuff happening I feel nothing now...and I think the baby has floated back up a little...<sigh>..that's okay my due date is the 12th...just really wondering what it's like to not be late this time!

Woohoo! good luck!

Just like clockwork, the cramping and nausea started at 36 weeks, just like last time. I had 4.5 long weeks of this last time. I'm hoping to get a tiny little reprieve this time, but i'm sure I still have weeks of it.

Doesn't help that I fell down the stairs at work today and now can't be for sure whether this is normal prodromal stuff or scary trauma. ugh.
