I actually just got tested for this, because I asked due to having an outside cat currently. I was negative. I am in SHOCK. I have tested negative before as well, which is unbelievable to me. I have fostered ferals (for years) and volunteered trapping, fixing, vaccinating, relocating, etc ferals whose main diet was rats from the wharfs where I used to live. The amount of sketchiness and cat bodily fluids I have had on me (I won't get into what sort of things has been sprayed in my face) is crazy. I would consider that high risk - but still, negative?
I am blown away. I'm sure you're negative...I'm going to say the disease seems harder to get than the fearmongering interwebz would like you to believe (not saying you shouldn't be washing your hands, and wearing gloves when working in gardens, and not dealing with cat poop) but I wouldn't stress over it.
And as the PPs said, if the test was Positive they should have called you with the results.
