my DD is almost 4 & complaining of burning while peeing, going often, her urine is clear & no other UTI symptoms that are common
is this something we can cure or are antibiotics required?

I am pushing fluids/water, will try to go out & get some cranberry juice soon

Increasing water is the best idea and have her pee frequently. Keeping urine out of the bladder really helps. I don't think cranberry juice helps. Mostly because it's filled with sugar/sweetners which make infections grow more.

Unsweetened cranberry juice would probably be good but it's intense and not sure a kid would drink it. I have used cranberry pills as an adult with good results. When I take them at the first signs of an UTI and take full dosages. I am not sure what a dosage would be for a small child.

You can also give probiotics, they help raise immune functions and fight infections. Echinacea is good for bacterial infections and is safe for children.

If increasing water and peeing doesn't help in 24 hours I would take her to a doctor to get a diagnosis.

Hope she feels better soon!

If she is still complaining I would take her in for a urine culture. If the culture comes back positive I would definitely start antibiotics for a UTI. The culture will tell you which abx she needs. I'm not a big abx fan, but a UTI can quickly move into the kidneys and become a more dangerous infection if not treated properly.

Hope she is feeling better soon!
