Positive OPK just before AND after O??

sorry i don't have the sight bookmarked, but i did read that on a website today that you can get a + OPK just before and after O? is this true? does that mean that all these months i could have been getting a + after the O day? I seriously am so confused about all this fertility stuff. I think I am just going to stop with the OPK as they are not helping me get pregnant. I was actually going on my temps when i started, which had me ovulating on day 18-21, so i never really did the OPK until later eventhough I notice what i think is ovulation bleeding around day 14, well the past 2 days i have never seen so much ewcm so i decided to do the OPK and ta da, it is +, which is making me think i was getting the surge + after O the past 4 months...after reading that site.

well, if you want piece of mind, you might want to combine the temps, the opks, cp, and cm, maybe even something more like an ovwatch, etc. it is really helpful to be able to have a few different indicators to compare. i would not recommend anyone only use opks, not sure if that is what you are doing, but a + opk does not tell you whether or not you o'd, and without temps, you might stop dtd long before you actually do o. if i didnt want to temp, the one thing i would do would probably be cm/cp, not opks, with the plan to dtd anytime i had favorable cm and cp. you wouldnt know if you o'd, but you would always have your bases covered.

as far as having a + opk before and after o, i would say that is definitely not typical. the avg is 36 hours after the first +. if you keep taking them, it could still be pos when you o, or you could o on that day, but most dont. take a lot of what you read on websites with a grain of salt. i cant believe how much wrong info is out there. and read "taking charge of your fertility" if you havent- most libraries have it.

It really depends on how long your LH surge is. I discovered that if I keep taking OPK's after they are positive that I'm likely to get 3 full days of + tests with generally ovulation happening on the 2nd day, sometimes 3rd day.

My plan is usually to temp and use cm as well as OPK's to try to do my best to figure out o day. The OPK's are a little confusing, but otherwise my signs line up pretty well (ewcm, pos OPK's, followed by temp rise and cm drying up.)

I used OPK's for two cycles and never got a + until after my temp shift. So I stopped using them.

This happened to me, and I got pregnant! I had a + before and after O.

you also can get a + before and after because you o twice!
