Brown Spotting at 5dpo - a bad thing?

So what do you all think? I am having some spotting (which I've never had before in the luteal phase) at 5dpo. It's my first clomid cycle. But the spotting is brown. Isn't it supposed to be pink or red if it's the "good" implantation kind of spotting? Anyone have brown spotting and then go on to have a healthy pregnancy?

the color does not tell you if its good or bad, but rather if its new or old.

bright red = fresh blood
pink = somewhat fresh
brown = old blood

I had a bit of brown spotting 2dpo during this cycle. Do not think it is related to the pregnancy at all but it is weird that the ONLY midcycle spotting I ever got was a cycle I ended up pregnant, you know?

My implantation spotting with DS1 was brown. It looked like the very light "end of my period" blood. IYKWIM

All of my implantation spotting has been brown GL

I am not really sure as I have never had implantation spotting before. However, I had the same brown spotting you are talking about this month at 6dpo (and possibly 7, we were on vacation and I thought I saw some but wasn't checking regularly). This has NEVER happened to me. EVER. I sometimes spot a day or two before AF but it is red/pink and I still haven't started AF at 10dpo. I have taken 3 tests, all negative, but I too am wondering if it could be implantation spotting.

Wow Maurine, looks like one more thing to add to the obsess list!!! FWIW, I've never had brown spotting after ovulation and I've never been pregnant lol.
