"natural" health basket for DD

Thread Starter
So I'm kind of new at all this, and I want to put together a "natural" first aid basket [or just a wellness basket] for DD and I. I want to have a ton of stuff in it, from just something for scrapes, bruises and rashes and stuff for momma's health too.

So far I've got (and I know it's pathetic)
A sore nipple salve for when DS comes/I'm breast feeding
An organic natural lavender chest rub for colds
A spray for the diaper area for rashes+ knit clothes to use as wipes

And yep, that's it

Ideas please, and maybe links to some homemade things I can make here? Like I said I'm new to all this so I'd appreciate any input, especially if you have something similar in your home!

My favorite thing ever, a microwavable heat pack (you can make one with rice in a sock I think)... great for sore muscles, menstrual cramps, backaches, etc!

I totally love my microwaveable heat pack. Mine was hand-made by my mom's masseuse's grandmother, and has some sort of grain and lavendar in it.

I also like to have arnica gel and I have some homeopathic burn and sting gel that I use for bug bites.

Things I have kicking around that get a fair amount of use (that haven't been mentioned yet):

hydrogen peroxide
tea tree oil
coconut oil
propolis cream
grapefruit seed extract
witch hazel (great for the perineum post-partum if you tear at all)
garlic/mullein ear drops
apple cider vinegar
eucalyptus oil

Here's a link to a page of instructions for making your own herbal tinctures, infusions, salves, etc...
http://sites.google.com/site/herbind...erbal-remedies

I wouldn't be w/o pascalite clay or olive leaf.

homeopathics
nux vomica for nausea
arnica for bumps & bruises
apis for bites & stings
rescue remedy for stress or trauma

comfrey salve for scrapes and chapped skin
Aloe gel or plant for burns
ginger oil for aching muscles and yummy warming feeling!
