Any Cyber/Virtual School Families? - Page 2

Tomorrow if I'm not too foggy still, I'm hoping to pick up phonics again with the girls. DD1's phonics stuff arrived middle of last week, so I've been organizing and getting it all ready to go. I'm really hoping that I'm able to get started, as the girls and I are going to need extra time this year to ease into our lessons. Is anyone else planning on getting started with a couple things real early like I am or am I alone in this one? We'll just do phonics until we get the OLS updated (I think that will happen either at the tail end of this month or the start of August) and then we'll start adding in more. (along with doing phonics, I'm going to do the grammer parts of lang arts 1 with her since I don't really need the OLS guide for that part)

My oldest is using Keystone National High School this fall, but we have to pay for it ourselves.

I just got an email instructing me to give my son a K12 placement test. The process seems pretty straight forward. Anything I should be aware of before he starts?

Just received three big boxes from K12. Man, they were quick. DS is so very excited!

We use Time4Learning.com. I'm not sure if you would consider it a cyber school or not. But we love the program. All of the work is laid out for you. I sit behind my son to help keep him focused. He has an extremely short attention span. He can maybe do two pages before he is investigating all the stuff on my desk or running off to chase the cat. Then he will focus for another page or two. If you are in a state that requires written reports you can print them off on a daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever you need them basis. This is our 4th year with this program. Two of my grandchildren are using it as well.
