elevator phobia, anyone?

It's becoming debilitating. I am away with my husband.
we are staying on the 34th Floor of a hotel. So that means multiple trips up and down. I'm less anxious if he is with me but tomorrow I will be alone all day. It's either, get on alone or stay in the room for a good 12hrs until he returnsl Years ago, I got stuck in an elevator that kept going up and down 19 floors. That is what triggered this.
HELP!! Any suggestions would be appreciatedl

Yes, I used to have this. It helps to remember to have a cell phone with you. Most elevators, especially in hotels, have phones and emergency alarms. But I find that having my own cell phone with which to call for help if need be helps.

Yes!! I've been diligent about having it with me on the elevator. I've managed three days so far. It still is a bit disconcerting but I'm doing it. It helps that this elevator is quick and the doors open very fast at each stop. I hate this stinking phobia!!
Thanks for the support.

Oh I dislike them very much! Man, the few times i've gone to the local women's pavillion i've not enjoyed their elevator. It makes me dizzy. I can't imagine how the pregnant women survive it! lol. But at the same time I dislike the slow ones because i'm afraid they will just stop period... and not let me off. That and the fear of the cords just snapping and me dropping to the bottom and being smooshed. Don't like it. I'm always gripping the hand railings tight. I wonder if I look nervous to other people? Back in March I went to louisianna and stayed at this best western hotel. It had the tiniest elevator. Opened the doors, took a look inside and said "i'm not going in there" and took the stairs the entire stay there, lol. Luckily it was only two stories so there was no real need to take the elevator.

I have a very hard time with elevators.I also hold on to the railings, and hold my cell phone in my other hand.It helps that I check my messages or look at my pics on my phone while I'm in there. The only time I really have to use an elevator is once a week to go to my therapist. It's only the 4th floor but it still freaks me out.I can take the stairs down, but not up since the 4th floor door is locked from the stairway, but I can unlock it to go down.
