Ideas for making a wall calendar

I want to make some sort of calendar that will help dd (just turned 6) get a better grasp on the months and where they fall in the year. I want her to write the number every day, but I want her to see the bigger picture as well, so I don't want a "flip" type calendar. I was thinking maybe a big piece (or maybe 2 or 3!) of poster board with all the months laid out in order on the wall, but blank. Has anyone done something similar, or have any suggestions on how to create this?

We used what you are describing ..like this
http://www.classroomdecorations247.c...-calendar.html

We didn't pay $19..more like $1.49 for one chart that we reuse..I let the kids make the numbers on little tags, hand made shapes, whatever they choose.

We just printed out the months from http://www.sparklebox.co.uk/

My boys actually learned the months from a youtube video of a guy singing the song

I bought this one last year at RR and love it. I was going to make one like it, but, decided to buy it. You could easily make the same thing.
