antihistamines and supply?

are there any anti-histamines that have no effect on your milk supply? i am seriously suffering with allergies but a day with a low supply would be much more miserable around here.

You can't take sudafed or anything that will dry you up, but Zyrtek is fine (take it daily for help). I'm taking Zyrtek and still nursing, it hasn't affected me. Check out Kellymom for info on what allergy medicines you can take. Good luck!

Zyrtec is an L2, so would be a reasonable choice. Claritin is an L1 and considered generally safe for breastfeeding mother's by the AAP. (Per Medications and Mother's Milk) I would try Claritin.

I've had no issues with either Claritin or Benadryl impacting my supply... and I've had to take the Benadryl in larger doses than one would normally take to combat seasonal allergies.
