Some strep questions...

I came down with something awful on Monday. I was fine at 2:00, and by 4:00 I had a fever of 102, body aches, headache, sore throat, etc. Last night was rough--my fever didn't break until around 1am, and although it's been around 100 all day today, I still don't really feel better. My throat is really sore, swollen, and thick feeling. DH doesn't see any white spots.

I know my dr. will give me abx immediately (and will culture too). But getting to the dr. in the next few days will be difficult. I will go if I have to, but...does this sound like strep to you? Or do you think it's viral, and I can knock it out w/vit C, lemon, honey, and garlic?

Thanks for any opinions...

Without any white spots, it's hard to say for sure. It does sound like strep, but strep presents in many different ways. I'm had strep before where I only had a fever and vomiting. Other times I've had no fever and just a sore throat. I've also had strep about 40 times in my life. Right now, all 4 of my kids have it.

You can try going the natural route to see if you can clear it up on its own. There's a good thread on treating strep here. I would say if your symptoms worsen or stay the same over the next few days to head in to the doctor. Strep is just so awful. You don't want to end up dehydrated.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you!
The fever is completely gone today, but my throat feels the same. I think I'll give it until this afternoon, and then go in to the dr. I have already been trying several of the ideas on the thread, but I'm going to print out several more things to try.
