Paint color advice needed.

We're buying a townhouse and have a limited budget to fix it up. I need some help with a few rooms.

1. The kitchen paint color...currently we have green tile with black grout, gold fixtures that hopefully will be replaced with silver, and green laminate/wood countertops. What color paint will minimize the green tile? I am thinking of doing Giani granite paint on the counters, in the sandy color.

2. Bathrooms have all gold fixtures, gold framed mirrors, gold towel bars, gold shower door frame...(you get the idea!) We can't afford to replace the gold stuff in one bathroom, so what paint color will not look garish with the gold, and minimize it?

TIA!

A light brownish gray might be good in the kitchen if I'm visualizing it right. Like "Sandstone Cliff" in behr paint. If you are more daring, go for contrast and get a red clay sort of color

We have gold brass fixtures and I feel like it looks nice with "Sun Glint" paint (creamy color), dark wood trim, and deep red accents (towels, rug, part of the shower curtain print, etc).

A friend had great success spray painting her gold light fixture. It looks much more modern and I never would have guessed unless she told me.

If I'm envisioning it right I agree with the PP on color options. The right creamy yellow might work with the green as well but it would have to be the right yellow - not too lemony.

I did that, too, with a light in our old house. I taped off all the glass and spray painted it brown. From up high it looked like rubbed bronze finish. It worked great!

For our house, though, I'm talking about faucets and towel bars, cabinet hardware, etc, that is shiny gold. I'm not so sure painting a faucet would work. ?
