1st issue is my own. I've been struggling with periods of extreme fatigue, light headedness, low BP. These periods last several weeks to a few months and then improve. I think I have now determined that they are seasonal and possibly related to environmental allergies. I tend to be at my worst in terms of fatigue when my allergies are also at their peak, although the fatigue has been ramping up again in recent weeks and my allergies are not too bad right now. I'm more of a spring and fall allergy person. The kicker is I had my cortisol levels checked as well as my thyroid and all was fine, although at the time of the cortisol test my fatigue was ramping down.
Ideas of where to look next?
2nd issue is DD's labial adhesions. Her 1st year we treated it with estrogen twice and after that I kept a really close eye on thing and was able to keep it open with some diaper cream - don't remember now what I used. After about 12 months she wouldn't let me get a good look anymore. She's very sensitive - a bit of sensory defensiveness anyway combined with that being a sensitive area. The labial adhesions fell of my list of things to pay attention to. She's now been PT'ed for 3 or 4 months so I really don't ever get a chance to peek. But tonight I happened to notice that she looked really irritated in that region so I had DH hold her while I took a look and she is adhered pretty much all the way with 1 small opening toward the front. I'm not crazy about the idea of treating with estrogen again so I might be inclined to leave it alone except I think its possible she could be pooling urine. I have noticed her panties often have urine stains on them like she's dribbling between trips to the potty. She has only 1 functional kidney, so a UTI or kidney infection would be a bigger deal to her than your average little girl. Though things may have been like this for awhile and she's never had a UTI to this point.
So I'm looking for suggestions of things to do to reduce the irritation - specific products would be great like your favorite perfume free soap, a lubricant, etc. Also looking for opinions on whether to call one of her docs tomorrow (Pedi or nephrologist) or give it some time to try non-medication remedies first and again what would you suggest trying?
Thanks Mamas.
