UPDATED: Is this machine worth fixing?

My friend gave me this old elnita 120. It does not really work. I can get it to do a straight stitch, but not reliably. I'm new to sewing so I don't know much about sewing machines. I just bought myself this cheapy brother for $55 a couple months ago. It's not so great, but it does work.

The elnita doesn't zig zag, and bobbin area is weird. How much would you spend to get the thing fixed? Is it even worth it? Anyone have a similar machine?

UPDATE: It's working! Another question.

So, I opened it up and oiled up all of the moving parts and did some wiggling. And now, it works with one exception. There is a flat spot on the main belt that slips if I try to start sewing and that part of the belt is in contact with the motor. I can get the machine to work by turning the knob and moving the belt over a little, but this is a pain, and not exactly good for precision sewing.

I'm thinking that all I need is a new belt. Can I get a generic belt and fit it to my machine? The ones that are lik $2? Or do I need to figure out the size and order an exact match? I can't find anywhere online that tells me which belt to buy for my specific machine.
