Question for you Herbal experts re: herbs and pregnancy test

Hey there,

I'm hope, hope, hoping there are some ladies on this board who know all about herbal contraception and can give me a pretty confident answer to this pretty complicated (I think) question:

I have a 16 month old son and dear old aunt Florence showed up to darken my doorstep again back in November. Her visits had been pretty regular, mostly being during roughly the last week of each month.

Except this month, no visit yet and here it is the 30th. So, I don't know how I could be pregnant unless a condom was faulty but not faulty enough to be obvious... but we CAN NOT be having another child any time soon, so I kinda freaked. I am REALLY HOPING that it's just that I've been under stress, not eating so well, and not sleeping well lately that is causing the delay. But I did some sniffing around on the internet and my research led me to do the following to try to bring AF around if it is indeed just delayed: I dosed myself up with Black and Blue Cohosh on Sunday and Monday, and since Monday I have been drinking ridiculous amounts of Ginger root decoction, Parsley infusion, and taking vitamin C pills all day and night. If it's not just delayed, and can't be brought around... well that's a whole different issue.

I just took a home pregnancy test (the pee stick) and it says negative.

SO. My question for any one who is still reading is:
Do you know if anything that I have been taking is likely to cause a false negative result on a pregnancy test?

I hope this is an appropriate forum to ask this question in. I don't know where else on the the entire interbutts I'd ask about it.

I'm sorry to say I don't know the answer to your question, but have you thought about maybe asking on Susun Weed's Healing Wise forum? I can't think of a better place on the whole interbutts to find that kind of info.

nothing there is likely to cause a false negative. 18 days after your last sexual encounter is considered "safe" to test and trust the result. If your period hasn't arrived then, you could consider making an appointment with your doc/midwife to check out why your period is delayed. And perhaps discuss an additional form of birth control to add to condoms if you really can't be pregnant right now.
