All Free and Clear

Hi, I'm getting ready to cloth diaper! I'm hoping to start cloth as soon as we get home from the hospital (I may even bring the Newborn sizes with to the hospital) and I'm trying to make sure I have everything I need.

Is "All Free and Clear" safe for cloth? I've heard from some it isn't and some it is.... That is what I already buy and use on everything. Its great for my families sensitive skin, and I can buy it in bulk and save a few bucks. I'm mostly going to be using fitteds and covers, but already have a few PFs and will have a few AIO's too.

What do you with experience think?

I say try it, it might work for you as every persons water is different.

I used it and got build up something terrible. But I have heard some people use it with out issues. I use Charlies Soap and it works great for us but other have terrible luck with it.

I think it's fine! It does have (unless you can get the military version) optical brighteners, which I suspect is what causes the problem in people who have trouble with it.

I use the All F&C Small and Mighty and haven't had any problems. I just use the tiniest bit, though.

I used to use All Free & Clear and I didn't have any problems with it at all ( I stopped using it because it wasn't available in an HE version, and I have a front loader now). I was using prefolds, though. I think the more complicated laundry issues are with the microfiber/microfleece in pockets and AIO's.

I tried the All F&C but it gave my kid a red butt - we used Purex F&C without any problems before that, though. Now I use Country Save since I found it online with free shipping (alice.com baby!)

I used to use it on all our clothes because of having sensitive skin, but I have since found much better-cleaning options without the weird chemicals in All Free & Clear. My favorite of all time for clothes is Biokleen Premium Plus Laundry Powder. Works amazingly well on stains and doesn't have any scary ingredients in it, and no skin irritation.

All Free & Clear will cause buildup on the diapers, so I don't recommend it. My favorite for cloth diapers is Rockin' Green. Cleans well, rinses easily, no irritation.
