10 month old cries when peeing --- no UTI -- any thoughts?

Hi,
I need some thoughts and help here...
My son 10 month old started crying yesterday morning when he went pee.
He went pee on the potty ( he doesn't pee at night , so I put him on a potty in the morning) and when he started to pee he started to kick with his legs and cried...
So later I put his diapers on with no cover and I noticed again when he was peeing he cried.

I went to the Dr. ... he does not have a UTI , no fever, is happy -- till he has to pee ... or is peeing.

Oh, of course the Dr. started talking about the proper cleaning and having more build up because he not circumsized... and if the foreskin is too tight he could get big problems and if I would consider a circumcision...

I told him... no circumcision.

This morning... same thing again... he's cried when he had to pee...

I have no idea what it could be.

My son went through something similar last summer (he was almost 2). He's uncircumsized as well. If he's been playing with himself at all it could be a that he tore or pulled some of the glands away from the foreskin (I hope all my terminology is correct, sorry if I get some of it wrong) and so it could sting when he pees. Just keep an eye on it. It didn't last too long with my little one but he would hold his pee and seem really uncomfortable and sometimes cried.

My circ'd son does this from time to time...usually when it's been a long time since he peed last.

You know when you hold it for a long time (like on a car trip or a movie) and it starts to hurt? And then when you pee it hurts and feels good at the same time? We've thought that might be what happens to him...

What AFWife said. My son used to scream bloody murder first thing in the AM and be a generally horrible child until after he peed. (He is not circed.) I think it's part of the whole "learning to hold it" process. I have seen girls do this too, esp. when they are potty-learning.

He might also be starting the separation process. I know he's only 10 months, but some boys go through this very early, some much later. If that is the case, it probably is just a bit of temporary pain from separation and will get better.
Sometimes urine can sting when it hits the area of skin separating.
Will your ds pee in the bath? If so, water might help dilute it.
