window shades question

We need new shades, but dust free. No cloth. What other inexpensive somewhat natural options do we have? We're moving, so it's for all the windows in the house.

What about something like bamboo roman shades? They are earth friendly and when I googled them they weren't badly priced either.

Hate to say it, but no shade is going to be "dust free".

I'd recommend finding a shade shop and checking out the selection. There's everything from bamboo rolling shades to wooden slatted shades to cellulose honeycomb shades.

Shades and blinds are going to collect dust. There's no way around it.
You just need to find something that can be easily cleaned.
Or, buy thermal curtains (washable) and forget the shades altogether.

We went the thermal lined curtains route and have loved being able to just toss them in the wash, line dry so there are almost no wrinkles and then rehang. In the two spots where we will need shades or blinds, too, I have been looking at the honeycomb ones. But, I have no expectation that they will be dust free.

Window shades means any window covering. I didn't mean only material. Are there any safe plastic curtains? The apt. I'm at now, now my own curtains they have I think PVC, and they're thick and let no light through, and easy cleaning. I know wood are usually more expensive.

For the rooms simple is good. For the dining room and kitchen I'd prefer something nicer.

Seeking Joy: You got 2 layer curtains - material and the thermal liner or only a thermal liner and that's the curtain for the room? I would need to wash it once a week. Is it convenient to do that?
