It's interesting to see the differences

I have a 4.5yo DS and an almost 4month old DS. Noticing things that my YDS is doing and remembering the things that my ODS did - it's interesting to the differences.

My YDS smiles a lot, laughs at times, very observant of his surroundings, loves his hands and LOVES his feet. He gets fussy when he's hungry and REALLY fussy when he's tired. He tends to get overstimulated at times in turn he loves to be held, rocked and soothed. He also doesn't like to be in a swing, bouncer or exersaucer for very long - loses interest quickly. Likes to be moved around and loves to be in a carrier.

Now, when my ODS was 4months old, I don't remember him being quite as vocal as my YDS. He LOVED his swing, exersaucer and bouncer from early on. He hated tummy time, but loved to learn to sit up with his boppy. He hardly ever fussed - only when he was tired and fighting sleep. Slept through the night early on.

My ODS loves to fix things - anything. Cars, things around the house, loves to help in the house and outside with DH. Very considerate child. He likes to paint, but not draw. Enjoys writing his name. Loves fast cars, motorcyles, and sports - baseball, soccer, tennis, golf. Has no fear when it comes to climbing. Was always such a happy baby, hardly EVER sick, started sitting up at 6 months, walked at 11 months. Didn't care much for being in a carrier - wanted to get out all of the time.

Things like this just make me realize how different two kids that share the same DNA can be!

What sort of differences have you noticed in your LO's?

Body shape is probably the biggest difference between my kids. It's shocking how different they are. DS2 is dh's mini-me and acts and talks just like him. DS1 is mine and is just like me.

DS2 is and has always been a major mama's boy. He's 4 now and still follows me everywhere, he'd rather I do anything for/with him than anyone else. DS1 loves me to death, but he's more laidback. He just loves everyone while ds2 takes awhile.

DS1 is an artist. He's always writing, drawing, coloring. DS2 doesn't care at all about coloring, except making pictures for mama. They're both very anal about things, ds1 is very black and white about everything. DS2 just doesn't like change. At all.

My ds's are different as night and day! I agree- it's so interesting that two brothers can be so very different!
Ds1 wanted to be held all the time, and never wandered far from me or dp. He was very cautious from a young age. He's always had great impulse control for his age. He was a high needs baby, but an easy toddler. He crawled and walked at an very average age. He was a VERY chubby baby, where ds2 is more average.

Ds2 will only be held when he's hurt, tired, or hungry basically. He's really active, and goes wherever his little legs will take him, without any concern for where I am. He crawls up on the couch and anything else, with apparently no idea that he could fall off of those things He's active and a lot of work, but I wouldn't say that he was a high needs baby. I think he's going to be FAR from an easy toddler! He crawled sort of early, and was walking at 10.5mos.

I joke that there's nothing that's the same about them- sleeping, walking, what they like, how they play. lol. Nothing!
