temp drop and light spotting at 10dpo

Hi All,

I've been trying not to stress too much this cycle, and was happily watching my temperatures and thought everything was going well, until this morning my temp dropped from 97.9 to 97.33 and is now below the 97.5 coverline... I've also had some very light brown spotting today (very minimal). No cramps or any other symptoms. I chart on paper so I don't have a link to share...

I've been pretty regular lately, with a temp drop on cd 28 and af starting the following day -- which this month isn't expected until Monday.

I know that I should just wait and see what happens... and by asking this question I'm going against my plan to not obsess this cycle. Just wondering if there are any scenarios that have a temp drop at 10dpo as a good thing, or at least not a bad one? I'm thinking it's too late for an implantation dip? (I ovulated on cd14), and my temp already dropped close to the coverline at 7dpo but then shot back up again. Just wondering if this is a sign that this isn't our month?

Any advice or insight would be appreciated. thanks!

Karen

I'm no expert, but I had implantation spotting at 10 DPO when I conceived DD...so I'm guessing it wouldn't be too late to have an implantation dip then as well. I hope that's what it is for you!

Thanks for your reply. My temp went up a bit this morning, but at 97.45 is still below the 97.5 coverline. I'm officially confused, and losing my willpower to stay relaxed this month and to not test until Monday (15 dpo -- when af is usually expected). More spotting but nothing much. Spotting yesterday was brownish (sorry if tmi) and today brownish-reddish... but no cramping and certainly not af.

I have ic tests upstairs and would like to take one... though if this is implantation it wouldn't come up positive yet. I should just wait it out I guess -- as the answer always makes itself known eventually. Just bummed at the thought of my recently very regular cycles throwing me a curve-ball -- I like to know what's happening!

Oh yeah -- I also agreed (to myself) not to test this month once my temp dropped -- so I guess that answers my question. Today's a holiday for us (Canada Day) so i should just enjoy the day and keep cleaning up in advance of DS's 3rd birthday party on Sunday and let whatever happens, happen. I guess...

Little to no spotting or any other activity since about lunch time I'd say. Maybe there is still hope. Anyone else can't wait to wake up tomorrow to see what their temp is?

Me! I am in the same situation as you, but I'm 14 dpo, so I doubt there is any hope of my temp drop and spotting being due to implantation. I dropped from 98.2 to 97.8 today and had very light spotting. I figure I'll wake up to another drop and AF tomorrow, but always hold that tiny sliver of hope...

Fingers crossed for you GaleTX!

AFM -- temp down again this morning (12dpo)... even lower than 10dpo, so I don't see how this can be anything relating to implantation... but not sure why my temp would drop for days without AF either. I always thought charting would give me all the answers!

I only chart on paper at this point -- so no -- but maybe it would be more helpful when things don't go quite as you'd expect.

I'm at cd1 today Really not sure why this month was so different from the last 3-4 (since things became normal after my m/c and one wacky month in Jan). I had at least 3 27 or 28 day cycles with O on cd 13 or 14, this time ) on cd 14, spotting and temp drop by 10dpo and it was over in 26 days. I don't mind the shorter cycle... just the 3 days of lower temps before af showed... confusing. I'm used to af the day following the temp drop. Am I the only one with temps so low they often are below the chart options?

At least now I can have the cd21 bloodwork done because it won't be a Sunday again
