Is there a link between allergies & Vax?

It's been suggested to me that there may be a link between food allergy (peanuts, in our case) and vaccines. Anyone have any personal experience, input or knowledge on this?

I want to say I've heard that the Prevnar vax can cause soy allergies...

I dont know about them causing allergies, but my younger son is living proof that you can still have TONS of food allergies and not having had a single vax EVER. The only shot hes ever had is Vit K. He is trully allergic to all things dairy (complete with hives, runny nose/eyes, sneezing, coughing, and even wheezing) tested posative for peanuts and eggs, and has a possible sensativity to wheat.

My older son got everything until four months old, he eats whatever he wants, no worries.

That's a great point, "Barbie64g" makes- I would also love to hear from you if your child has not received any VAX, but still has a food allergy. Interesting.

2 YO DS is unvaxed and has food sensitivities. He doesn't seem to have any IGE mediated allergies, but we have done a lot of testing recently and he has lots of sensitivities.

I think allergies are complex and MANY factors contribute, vaccines being only 1 of them.

I don't have much time right now, so please google it to learn more. I remember reading in several books and articles that vaccine manufacturers use peanut oil in their blends for vaccines and it is suspected that the peanut oil with the vaccine makes the body think peanuts are bad and hence the allergy. Don't quote me on that, as I said, I can't even remember where I read it.
Allergies are also something that is inherited. We have no allergies in the family so far and DS has none either. I know friends who have hay fever and such and despite best nutrition and whatnot their kids inherited the condition.

Yeah, I should add that we have dairy issues on both sides of the family...so it's no surprise that DS ended up with them.

i would like to add that we have no food allergy issues anywhere on either side. Go figure. It was a one in a million chance for my poor little guy. EBF and all that too.

This is the book where I read there is thought to be a link between vaccines and the "four A's" -- Austism, Allergies, ADHD and Asthma. I think the author (Kenneth Bock MD) is a DAN doctor?

Anyway. If I remember right, he basically thought the four syndromes were related and that heavy metals (present in vax but also other things) was involved.

My cousin's child is high-functioning autistic, allergic to peanuts, cats, dust mites, pollen, maybe more, and has asthma. Pretty sure he was vaxed fully and on schedule, but to be honest I've never had the nerve to ask. Just the type of person she is in general, I'm pretty sure she is a pro-vax parent.
