My poor little boy woke yesterday with a fever and threw up a couple of times. I thought it was a short lived virus as his fever went away by lunch & he was acting fine again.
By dinner he was miserable and by bed his fever had shot up to 103-104. I had to give tylenol 2x in the night b/c he was miserable, not sleeping & clearly uncomfortable.
He's still acting sick today, little appetite and a very low fever. I took him to a walk in b/c our ped's office is closed.
He said his throat is infected & one ear is starting to look infected. We were unable to get a swab DS was way too upset about that so I don't know if it's strep or not.
Dr said if his fever goes back up tonight to start amox.
Obviously, I want nothing to do with abx (unless necessary)
I've given him garlic drops in the ear & will continue that
I tried to get him to take garlic & manuka honey orally whic didn't go over so well, so I'll need to liquify that more.
He had some sambu guard, probiotics & extra D
Vit c is hard to get in him.
He's still nursing too.
Does anyone have any other tips or experiences with throat infections in toddlers????
Thank you
