OMG is it normal to be this exhausted??? (10 weeks preg)

Hey there, I am 10 weeks PG with #3. I don't ever remember being THIS tired with my first 2! This is crazy, I feel like I am barely functioning!! Is this normal?

Sometimes I come home from work (I work 2-3 days a week) and I just lay on the floor while my kids run around me. I have 2 weeks of laundry sitting here b/c I've been just too tired to do it. Been going to sleep very early every night.

I have my first OB appt next week so I will ask then too.. but for now I just want some reassurance that this is normal. I'm getting worried that something is wrong!

yes, totally normal.

but could also be a sign of low iron so get that checked out. not so bad, pretty easy to fix and if that's the cause you will be feeling better once its fixed.

but, yeah, could just be totally normal pregnancy fatigue too.

Hi mama,

The exhaustion was sure true for me with my dd. I'm more tired this go around, but not exhausted. I don't know if it's my really awesome vitamins or what, but I'll take it.

I hope you get to feeling more like yourself very soon!

I was much more tired with this one than the first. I am so totally unmotivated.

I feel ya! I'm there too. Have you tried a B Complex first thing in the morning? It can help with m/s too if you're having that.

Um yea. I have loads of laundry I'm too weak to put away. I can barely move half the day. Some days are worse, like when it's hot and humid I require bedrest. I can't wait for my kids to go to bed at night....that's when I go to bed too.

the more children you already have the more tired you are!!!

I got up out of bed yesterday, and actually left the house for the first time in 2 weeks. Just a quick errand with my 3yo, to the post office. By the time I got home, I had to rush to throw up, and sobbed for a good 20 minutes at how $#%@ing useless I feel. Yeah, tired. Spent. Done.

totally normal Mama.
I would feel like my body was on auto pilot while my head was detached and my eyes would be closing as I was cooking and cleaning and reading to the kids. Was having a hard time driving anywhere beyond 10 mins from the house because I couldn't stay awake... I've been there, and yes, it is harder the more kids you have to care for while growing another one~~ but of course this too shall pass~ and you'll be rested again... some day.... years from now...

CONGRATS ON THE PREGNANCY!!!!

I posted the exact same thing in my DDC when I was about 10 weeks. I'm 20 weeks now and I'm definitely not as tired as I was back then. So, as long as it isn't something else, like low iron, etc., I'm sure it will pass and it's just normal first tri sleepies. You'll feel better in no time. I remember being soooo exhausted. I absolutely had to sleep/nap atleast 2x a day.

Agreed. By #3, I drug my weary butt through every day of his pg because I had no choice but there wasn't a single day where I wasn't utterly exhausted. Honestly, when I look back that is all I remember, mind numbing exhaustion due to no other reason then 2 other kids to chase around. Hang in there.

Here's your old wives' tale for the day: yes, it's normal, and the reason it feels abnormal to you is that this time you're having a girl. Boys don't exhaust their mamas so much in pregnancy.

Honestly, it could be many, many things, but it's probably just that you're juggling two kids, household duties and the pregnancy. I hope you start feeling better soon!

yes, very normal, but do make sure you get your thyroid levels checked.

I'm having a boy, and I'm just as tired as I was for my 2 girls. The nausea 1st tri was much, much less, though.

In the 2nd tri, I now have energy during the morning to get a few things done, then need to pass out.

#3 was really rough for me... I was sooooo tired with that pregnancy, more so than I was with any of the others. When I saw the title for this thread, I was like.. I wonder if she's having #3. Funny I was right.
