Grant Perry J. was born at 5:54 am on Tuesday, June 22nd weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces. My top of my bag of waters broke early June 21st and we labored naturally in the hospital until 10 pm when they started pitocin because my contractions were not getting stronger and I was stuck at 5cm. At 11 pm the rest of my bag of waters broke and contractions picked up. I had the pitocin turned off and labored for another hour in the tub. When I could no longer get comfortable I was checked and was found to be 10 cm and complete. I pushed for 3 hours with little progress. An OB was called in to try the vacuum which was so painful. I was wishing I had the epidural right then. Another hour went by before I had a c-section. The little guy was so lodged in the birth canal that I tore internally as they tried to get him out. I ended up losing about 2 liters of blood and needed two blood transfusions. Not the birth I wanted, but I ended up with a healthy baby boy, which is what I ultimately wanted to do. Recovery has been slow, but we've been enjoying our time laying around the house with baby Grant. I'll post a picture soon. He's so cute!

I understand about the interventions. I had pitocin and an epidural after my labor stalled at 2cm but just like you, I ended up with what really matters... a healthy baby. I hope you heal quickly and that you and baby Grant are enjoying a well deserved babymoon!
