Just something I wanted to share

Two years ago today I held you in my arms and looked into your eyes for the first time. You were beautiful! I put you to my breast and you were a pro. By the time we got home from the hospital I had pitting edema on my breasts and mastitis. I was in sad shape. I had to pump before every feeding to draw my nipple out so you could latch on but within a few weeks the swelling had gone down and the pain of infection was fading and away we went.

Now today I layed in bed nursing you like we do every morning. But today I sang Happy Birthday to my sweet girl as I smoothed the hair out of her face. I am so glad I have gotten to share this journey with you and I hope you continue to love mommy's milkies for a long time to come.

I love you my sweet Rylin!

That is so sweet.

My DD just turned 2 too. Happy birthday girls!

I hope your are just relishing your time BFing together. DD never could get it due to a couple of medical issues. I, too, suffered from mastitis 5 times while I pumped for her. I am a tad jealous, but so genuinely happy for you and all mothers who can breastfeed.

Way to go, mama.

Thank you, I do love (almost) every minute of it! Hope you better luck the next time. I too had issues nursing my first and pumped a couple of months till I dried up. I encourage you to look into what caused your mastitis for next time I am really prone to it and always get it really often in the first 9 months or so. I didn't know that being too tired, as well as the other more obvious reasons were to blame.

Thank you for responding and I wish you all the luck with your next child (if you are planning a next). But you still gave your little girl a wonderful gift with pumping for her!
