Postpartum Weight Loss- July! - Page 9

Mamas, can I join you all?

I have really been struggling with my weight since my first pregnancy. I gained almost 60 pounds because I was on bedrest for almost 4 months and before I had a chance to loose all the weight I was pregnant again!! So now DD is 1 year old and I am still not back at my pre-preg weight from this last pregnancy.

Currently I am 130# and would like to be about 115#. I started at 150#. I am under 5 feet tall so anything over 115# and I look chunky! I am exercising at least 4-5 times a week and just started to train for a 1/2 marathon. I just don't know why the weight won't come off! I feel so big and sluggish even though I am very active. I have recently been asked when I am due and I haven't been pregnant for over a year! Ugh!!!

I just want to be able to fit into some of my pre-preg clothes... I know most of them may end up at Goodwill, but there are a few things I would REALLY love to get my butt back into. My favorite pair of old jeans... my cute hippie skirts... my old underpants

You all are so inspirational and supportive! I need someone to talk to about all this because its driving DH crazy. And I really want another baby but refuse to TTC until my weight is under control.

Amanda - you look fantastic!!! Amazing!!

Welcome Tracymom! Obsess away, you're in good company

So this morning...116.5! It's funny how these small numbers make me so happy. My body doesn't seem to want to lose more than 2 pounds per month, but I keep hearing when you hit between 6 and 9 months pp, the weight comes off easier. Maybe?

I've been surprisingly good at reducing the amount of white flour in my diet. I am still eating the banana bread I made the other day (I made a lot), and I had pancakes yesterday, but overall, there's been a large decline in the white flour consumption. I am still eating bread, but it's sprouted grain. I don't get the bloat at the end of the day, and my anxiety seems to be getting better as well, which is fantastic.

So not doing too well since I got home. Busy catching up at work, all 3 kids have a little bug, I haven't been able to do any working out in 2 weeks now. And then yesterday a friend of mine called, she moved several states away two years ago, she was 8 hours away and wanted to come for a visit, today. There goes the weekend.

Stats, 118 currently, goal is 107. I am also small or anything over 110 just doesn't work for my frame.

Annie Mac - did you just decide to give up white flour altogether or did you do it gradually? I am trying very hard to eat balanced meals but I am a total carb hound! I like the sprouted grain bread products but they are expensive and my husband and kids eat A LOT!! If I have something, I have to share it. Period. They won't let me have any food to myself!!

I am struggling with snacking after dinner. I always do well during the day but once the sun goes down I hit the fridge looking for anything that is bad for me. I have tried a bunch of things to curb this behavior - but sometimes its like I don't even know I am eating - like I am on auto-pilot or something.

The good news is that I ran 5 miles today and worked legs and abs. If only this gigantic tummy would start to melt away I would be so much happier! It is so discouraging! DD is only nursing a few times a day now and I wonder if hormones are playing a role in my weight loss stagnation...

Hi Tracymom, hope you see this answer before it gets swallowed up by the August thread I haven't entirely cut out white flour products, but I've drastically reduced them...which was easy because I ate so many of them! In my area, a loaf of sprouted grain bread isn't much more (in some cases, it's even less) than a loaf of decent white bread, so that's not been an issue. I cut out the white stuff for a couple of days altogether, and when I went back I found I didn't like the taste so much. Interesting. I hear what you're saying about sharing. Whenever my husband sees I have toast (or, really, whatever) he will ask for a bite. And he takes big bites! A quarter of my toast, gone!

There are recipes for sprouted grain bread to be had. I have done sprouting before, it's pretty easy and it is cheap. As for making the bread that way, I would imagine it's pretty labour intensive. One day I'll try it though.
