what happens when you stop taking mother's milk plus

cross posted in breastfeeding challenges. haven't gotten an answer there yet.

my baby is almost 10 months old, and his sister (also nursing occasionally) is 4 years old. supply has not been a problem. but i had this new container of mother's milk plus that i had paid $21 for, and i decided to use it (starting a couple weeks ago). i do believe that it has boosted my supply -- the first few days, baby dribbled white milk from his mouth, etc. also i could hear more milk going into my daughter's mouth too.

if i don't buy more of the herbal product, what will happen to my supply when i quit using it (i.e., when i run out, which is only a few days away) ? will supply drop, or stay the same as it is now (slightly boosted), or will it "revert" back to wear it was before i took the herbs?

any LCs out there? anyone have advice? thanks.

It may stay right where it's at now but IME it will likely go back to where it was before.

I took More Milk Plus for about 9 months because I had extremely low supply & every time I tried to wean off it, my supply tanked again. I heard & read different things from different sources--some said that supply would stay up, as long as baby/ies were nursing frequently and others said it might revert to where it was.

In my case, I decided to stay on it until DS was 11 mos and showing signs that he was getting too much milk (he'd pull off & refuse to nurse every time I let down) and I went from 4 pills to 3...stayed there for a couple weeks, then dropped to 2...stayed there for a couple of weeks, then dropped to 1...stayed there for almost a month and now, I'm off them. My supply is definitely down from where it was 2-3 months ago and is now more responsive to the amount of nursing DS does.

Mine reverts

back to where it was. I'd stick with if it works and it's affordable. If it is not then Fenugreek is cheaper.
