Charting to Avoid/Fertility Awareness - July 2010 - Page 2

CD 1

Lessons learned:
1) be leery of early O's -- both for safety and also for not freaking out if your LP seems longs

2) I have not-so-clear rises a lot, so to be really safe I'd better wait for 3 temps 4/10s above the LTL ( I really thought CD 19 was safe)

Thanks, everyone! Sorry for being

Hey! I'm feeling o.k. The cramping has pretty much gone away and I'm not really feeling any nausea yet so I'm in that space where I can't believe I'm pregnant. I'm 5 weeks today and I have an appointment with the midwives on Tuesday but it's just a consultation, not a first appointment. My hormones are a little out of control though and it feels like I'm on a really bad PMS trip!

Glad everything worked out the way you wanted it to! No worries about getting a little freaked...that's what this group is here for!

As for the lessons you listed above...I'm a great example of why you should keep those things in mind!

Aw, what a great time! Do you have to do anything with your thyroid meds?

AFM, I wasn't going to temp today since I got my 3 high temps but last night I had real and true creamy CF. I mean, a very obvious, white, creamy bog of CF. I never get creamy CF like that. I'm the one always complaining because I have to sort of guess when I have creamy because there is so little of it and the only way I know it must be creamy is because it's something different in between my sticky and EW. Anyway, so that freaked me out a bit wondering why I'd get creamy at 3dpo. My temp was still up this am, though, so I'm good.

BTW, my temps have continued to be very stable. My FF chart has my temps as taken and my Ovusoft chart has some of them adjusted for time. It's all very strange to me because my temps are usually all over the place. You can see the difference when you look at the bottom 2 charts on my FF homepage.

Wow, is that's all from the maca, that's pretty amazing!

MissE-- Isn't it so nice to have a nice easy dependable chart?

Well as luck would have it, I had just gone to see an endocrinologist for the very first time at the beginning of June. Up until then, I had always just gone to my PCP for my hypothyroid. Well, the dr called me last Wednesday evening, the same day I got my BFP to let me know that I do in fact have Hashimoto's and that he wanted to switch me to the brand name instead of generic meds. So I told him I had just found out I was pregnant and he immediately increased my meds dose and explained how Hashimoto's is very serious w/pregnancy and I need to take my meds religiously. So now instead of waking up to temp at 5 AM, I wake up and take my meds!

I have to go back next month to get my levels checked because apparently pregnancy wrecks havoc on your thyroid levels.

Dear Body:

I truly appreciate the very clear thermal shift this month However, if you could just push O date up by a week AND have this clear of a shift EVERY month I would be estatic!!!

Thanks!

Interesting. I don't know what Hashimoto's is. I'll have to Google it. What luck that you just happened to start all of that with a new doc right before getting pg. The universe is taking care of you and that little bean.

Forgot to mention the maca. Yes, it is pretty amazing if all of the changes I've had recently are because of the maca. I can't think of anything else it could be because nothing else with my diet, exercise (or lack thereof) and supplements has changed. This is on the lowest dose, too. After another cycle, I might go to two capsules a day to see if it moves my O up even more. Can you imagine me having a classic 28 day cycle?! More chances per year to get pg. There is one drawback, that would mean having more often.

Rara! I hope I'm just as lucky this month

Checking in here. My temps seem to be less rocky road the last week or so. We will see if that continues or if that is just something for this week, lol. It could be since I seem to be waking up at the same time every day or woken by Reid around that same time. Reid is definitely sleeping longer times now and I just had a good patch of CM. I don't think it is abundant but seems to be decent quality with some stretch to it.

Here is my chart:

Help me ladies- my question is does this sound normal (after 6 years of consistent temps)- my post O temps suddenly, just in the cycle, changing from 97.7 up to 98.1, to being only 97.4 and 97.5. I'm counting it post O because my O temp was 97.0 (which is normal), so that technically counts as a .4 increase, but I just find this very strange. I'm on day 6 post O and no normal high temps yet. There MUST be a reason for this right?

And I did check the thermometer, it's fine, showing a normal body temperature when I checked my temp randomly today.

MW - impressive! I wonder if it's all b/c of the maca. That's awesome! Weird about the creamy...

Rara - Whew. I'm happy for you! You are spot on w/your lessons learned, for sure! And you were so totally not annoying, I'm glad we were/are here to help and give you another perspective!!

Lovebeingamomma - So your CL is 97.0, and your temps have been up to 97.4 and 97.5 so far? And you're 6dpo? Hmm...interesting. I have no idea. Anyone else want to venture a guess?

AFM - is still here, of course, but I'm nowhere near as crampy. I swear, this is the worlds heaviest AF. Again, it bears repeating, SUCH a weird cycle and now a weird AF. I hope that this current cycle is much less dramatic! Unless of course it ends in a pg in which case I'll be happy w/the drama. LOL.

yes exactly babycakes...I hope someone has some ideas. I've never seen anyone post on this and can't find any info by googling...it just makes me think something is off with my body.

Can you share your chart?
Could it be something as silly as higher air conditioning? I know we've been blasting the A/C here lately. Our "feels like temp" high today was 42... which amounts to around 108F.

I'm assuming not, since you said you've never had one like this in years, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
Random Fun Fact: I just went through the sale 10 months of so of charts I have (can you tell I'm waiting for AF to show up annnnny time now) and almost exclusively, I do not start AF until my temp drops back below my coverline. I knew that my temp usually dropped before I started, but it's weird seeing that even when I had cycles where my temp dropped slowly over 4 or 5 days, almost every time, I did not start AF until the first day it dropped below the CL.

So cool the things we learn.

And ok AF... you can get here tomorrow and stop making my brain think too hard...

I got 97.7 today 7pdo, so I guess it was just a weird streak of temps...I don't have my chart online otherwise I would share. Thanks ladies.

By "O temp" do you mean CL?

I can't comment whether or not that's normal without looking at your chart. Not sure what you mean about your O temp and the next temps being 0.4 above that. That does not necessarily indicate O. Although that is a usual temp hike from pre to post-O, regardless of how high the temps go, they have to be above your CL, which is set at 0.1 degree above the highest of the previous 6 temps above the temp hike.

jj ~ I've never noticed that kind of pattern with my temps. I'm going to start taking my temp again 2 days before is due to see if it drops at all. I haven't gone through my charts in a while, but if I remember correctly, my temps usually stay high through and don't drop off until I'm getting close to O.

I'm sorry I didn't post in a clear way. So I mean 97.0 was the temp on the day I ovulated, I've been having consistent 28 day cycles so the 97.0 (on day 15) then spiking to 97.4 I assumed ovulation. Then my next temps were: 97.4, 97.4, 97.5, 97.5, 97.5, 97.7. And can I be honest...I've never drawn a coverline!! I didn't even know what this was until I've been reading your posts! So my coverline would then be like 97.2, but I know I ovulated on day 15 (with the 97.0 temp), because I have confirmed it with cervical position/firmness as well. Sorry this is so long I don't know all the abbreviations and obviously don't know as much as I should about how to chart. I just had never experiences such low temps after ovulation so I was curious.

Oh and the dropping before AF thing, I love this! I always know when AF is coming because my temp drops the day of, sometimes the day before AF comes so I'm prepared.
