I don't know what to do! (Probably TMI in this post - I apologize in advance.)
History: Ever since starting solids around two months ago, my 10-month-old has had trouble pooping. She is now only on vegetables (broccoli, peas, asparagus - all self-fed finger food). She doesn't like fruit, and our doc said not to give her any grains (as these surely exacerbate constipation).
Immediate problem: Right now, she has this huge poop that needs to come out. She strains, and I can see the poop trying to come out, but I think it's too big and she can't get it out, and it goes back in again. Not enough comes out that I can grab it and help pull it out. (Would that even be a good idea??)
How can I help her get this poop out? She is miserable.
(This has been going on for days!!!)
eta: She's not eating much in the way of solids. I'd estimate that about 90-95% of her caloric intake is still breastmilk.
UPDATE: So she finally "passed" the poop, but it was horrible. I swear, it was like helping someone through labor. I won't go into details, but it was hours of torturous pushing for her.

We have a doc appointment next week, and I'm taking her off ALL solids till then.
