Faint positive OPK the DAY I o?

Thread Starter
I've been taking opks for 3 months now, and it seems like I get a faint positive the day I o (the line is barely darker than the control, and I've read that it has to be 50% or more darker to be considered positive.) I had a cbe digital opk last month when I got my faint positive on the Answer brand, the cbe was negative. But, my temps went up the next day. Is that even possible? The main reason I am asking is that I'd like a little bit of advanced notice that I am about to o, considering it jumps around from cd 14 to cd 22. I'd go with the BD every day or every other day rule, but sometimes it is just too dern tiring to keep up that pace for two weeks.

Any thoughts / advice? TIA!

if you are taking Answer brand tests 50% of the width of the line or more has to be as dark as or darker than the control. (Because they for some odd reason only get dark on the one side and can look positive when not because they have a thin dark edge)

pretty much any other brand, any amount of the line that is as dark as or darker than the control is positive.

OPKs are not always good for advanced notice. Id say since they are obviously not giving you advanced notice, drop using them and try watching your CM and CP instead and see if that gives you a better idea of when you are fertile pre-temp-shift.

agree with pp. but those opks where you have to judge 50% or whatever, that's why some people find opks frustrating. forget them. get yourself some cheap ics or $tree opks. they are easy to read. if you dont get much notice with opks, you may want to try one of these other thangs they have like ovwatch. there are others too, but i dont remember off the top of my head what they are. you might try ferning, too. good luck!

Or... Have you tried using them at different times of the day? I get better results with FMU, though the instructions clearly say that midday is better.
