i'm not sure where to post this but i thought this looked like the right place. DD use to sleep from 9pm to 6am from 2 to 4 months, then she slowly started waking up more and more at night. She does go to bed around 730pm now, but she wakes up at least 5 times a night and the only way to get her back to sleep is to nurse her. She is easily distracted so if we are out and about during the day I do know that some of the time she is actually hungry at night but this isn't always the case. My nipples are so sore I dont even enjoy breastfeeding anymore! Does anyone have any thoughts/advice?

that is pretty typical for infants.. sleep regressions happen a lot the first year, with teething and developmental milestones, etc. The only thing that got me through was cosleeping, side nursing, and making sure I was comfortable in bed and sleeping when DS slept.. it meant going to bed early for awhile and taking naps with him, but we got by. It will get better!

Yep. Normal. I hate to say it, but that's just the way it is sometimes. It's a "this too shall pass" kind of situation.
My DD slept from 10pm-6am from 6 1/2 weeks to 6 months. Then...
the you-know-what hit the fan, and it hasn't stopped. We're almost 13 months now.
So...what helped me the most is to get rid of any expectation that I am going to get any decent sleep. It's just not gonna happen. That way, if I do manage to get an hour here or there, or an extra 30 minutes, I am totally stoked.
For the sore nipples, though...get some Lansinoh and use it religiously. Even at night. It will help.

So sorry, sleep deprivation is just awful!!! I agree with pp's that this stuff happens with infants and I've never found a solution...I was actually coming to this forum to ask for advice on my sleep problem with my 3 mth old dd, but after reading some of the posts it seems like it's just typical. Hopefully your little one will soon get past this stage and sleep longer stretches of time again. The only advice I can give is try your best to nurse alot during the day and hopefully your dd will be satiated and able to sleep more at night. Good luck!!!!
