Would you take your child to their regular play group (or any other event you had planned) if they still had a very mild leftover rash which you assume is roseola?
My daughter had a relatively high fever starting Sunday morning (around 102) that lasted until about Tuesday afternoon and hovered around 101 or 102 even with motrin, although sometimes it got as low as normal with the motrin. She did not appear sick in any other way except for a decrease in appetite, an increase in exhaustion and irritability. Yesterday (wednesday) afternoon we noticed a mild rash around her hips that look like pin pricks, do not seem itchy and blanch when you press on them. This morning I noticed that they were also on her belly and upper back although it is SO mild you almost can't see them. When I saw the rash I figured out that it was probably roseola that had caused her fever. Tomorrow morning we are supposed to go to playgroup and we all really look forward to this as we don't have many friends in the area with young kids and G doesn't get a ton of playtime with other kids although she really seems to enjoy it.
Would you go? How contagious could she be? Worse, am I going to be "that mom" if I take her? Be honest, I really don't know, from what I can tell it seems that the rash means that she is pretty much over it, but should I still keep her home until it's completely gone?
