What do you feed your raw cat when you can't be home for a meal?

Our cat is 8 months old and has been eating raw since he moved in with us 6 months ago. Before we got him I bought a bag of EVO crumbles for emergency situations when we couldn't be here to feed him. Obviously I can't leave his raw supper out at noon. Many months ago we ran into that exact situation. I left the EVO out for him and he ate it. Immediately afterward he had major diarrhea. I asked at my vet's office what I should do and they said that I had to slowly wean him off raw and onto the EVO and then back the other way when I wanted him back on raw. We're thinking of doing a few overnight trips this summer and the weaning thing seems excessive for such a short trip.

What do you do? Is there some other food that can be left out that works for you?

Nothing probably. It's typical to let raw fed animals fast occasionally. It won't hurt a cat to miss a meal.
