I figured you gals might be a little more knowledgeable...
Just got my fetoscope yesterday (not UP'ing or UC'ing, just curious) and was wondering when and where I should be able to hear the heartbeat.
Right now (17.5 weeks) I can hear a 'whooshing' really low and off to the left, loudest near my hipbone and not noticeable on the right side at all, but its the same as my heartrate and can't be heard anywhere else in the belly. Do you think that's more likely to be the blood supply to my uterus or my side of the placenta (can you hear a 'pulse' in the placenta?)?
Not hearing the heartbeat 'early' isn't something I'm really worried about because I've been feeling movement since 14.5 weeks (kicking around right now actually) but I did want my hubby to have a chance to hear it before I ask my doctor to stop using doppler.
