Really need help here to figure out what's going on.....please ladies do reply all you can think of.
it started around Wednesday last week, i started having abdominal pain in my right side, really mild....and it felt like menstrual cramps so i thought of ovarian cyst, after a coupple of days the pain was in the back, some days really severe, and some in the abdomen sometimes right sometimes left ....but mainly in the back. maybe because i sat on vegetarian diet i do have a lot of bloating, and my stool if kind of loose. today is pain is very bearable in my right abdomen and my back (sometimes really localized to the kidneys). i have been drinking a lot of fluids, thinking it might be kidney stones or sands...i am really trying to avoid goin g to the doctor, so this forum is my only hope. please help figure this out! thanx a lot in advance!

It could be a kidney infection. Is it upper side, or middle side? Do you have a fever? cloudy urine? more frequent peeing? blood in urine?

thank you for your reply! of all those of only have pain in my right abdomen (app the site of the appendix) and frequent peeing...and also back pain....:/ maybe tomorrow i wil do the urine test for sand.....can it be something in the ovaries? or is it kidneys?

I realize you'd like to avoid the doctor, but a simple urine test will at least rule out kidney infection. I'd go just for that. If it is kidneys, you really don't want to mess aournd and wait too long. Could get very, very bad.

A forum like this is certainly not a panel of experts...we can only tell you our own experiences, kwim?

Good luck.

u r right...however if there is an infection shouldn't i at least have fever?
You could have a very low-grade fever and not have noticed. With kidney stones you don't necessarily get a fever (I didn't). And when I've had UTIs I never had a fever that I noticed.

Another thought that came to mind is it could be endometriosis.

Where are you in your cycle? Any chance of pregnancy?

Could it be appendicitis? I would see a doctor..

I had stones when I was a kid. Worst year of my life. No DR.s thought to check for them. and I saw a zillion specialists and had strange tests done. They ended up telling my mom it must be all in my head. So I suffered with pain that was sometimes severe/moderate/mild/nonexistent in exactly the same places you are describing. I ended up passing a huge stone one night. Anyways I have no idea on how to treat naturally, because I was so young when it happened, and of course I was given no treatment at all. If it persists, and I was in your shoes, I would try to get to a DR, if at all possible.

Do you have GI issues like irritable bowel when under stress? That can be a sign of a low-level chronic infection of some sort (yeast, bacteria, etc). Low level not meaning that it's not seriously impacting you, but low level meaning it might not show up on a standard stool test. I am just throwing this idea out there because when I have bacteria flare up or die off it can cause abdmenal and back pain, particularly lower back kind of mid flank. If this sounds like you I would check out the GAPS diet for healing. It's been transformative for us. I hope you figure it out and feel better soon!

Dear all thank you for your support! in the urine test which was very turbid btw...they saw WBCs and bacteria and epithelial cells....they said it looks like a vaginal infection ...the lab woman said drink a lot of water and it should clean out by itself.....if not ask gynecologist....what do you think of that?

just a thought: i talked to my friend and both find it strange that the lab woman suggested vaginal infection..no? i mean shouldn't it be UTI? how can urine analysis indicate vaginal infection?
I'd talk to the dr who ordered the tests about the results. If it is a vaginal infection how would drinking water clear it up?
Not sure. From your symptoms it sounds more like kidneys than vaginal. Drinking water would clear up a UTI more than a vaginal infection, I would think. I've had plenty of kidney and urinary tract infections, and I've only had a fever with one of them (so one out of... let's just say 50, probably on the low side, so no, there's not always a fever).

lab technician was who advised me to do the tests...I am talking to alternative health practitioner and he asked me to do the urine culture, im doin it today. Do you think drinking ALOT of water can clean kidney infection (it could be the worst case no?) ? Kathy, did it help you? what things other than antibiotics can I try? I am also drinking parsley tea and chamomille....i'm reading about cranberry juice, but we don't have it here...

Cinnamon can help with a UTI... make a tea of it.

I've used cranberry juice in the past and it really helps, but you have to use the unsweetened kind. You can also get cranberry capsules - not sure if they work as well as the juice though.

Personally, I have tried Vitamin C, herbals, tons of water, cranberry juice, cranberry pills, and nothing has worked for me except antibiotics, but I also have a nerve issue that doesn't let my bladder empty completely. I do know that high levels of Vitamin C makes the dipstick type test inaccurate (makes it negative even if it's positive) but that shouldn't affect a urine culture.

With the extent you are talking about, I would go for abx soon. It can get dangerous. Until then, cranberry pills, uva ursi (especially if there's the potential for a kidney stone in the mix), and nettles tea.
