Dumb question about BFPs and implantation

If I got a BFP this morning, does that mean little eggy is already implanted, or is there a chance it has not yet? Reading some "what to expect" type information has got me all confused!

if you have a BFP baby implanted several days ago. Until implantation, your body does not even know its pregnant to produce the hCG that the test looks for.

Are you by chance reading the 1-2 weeks in what to expect info? because you would be more like 3-4 (depending on how long ago you ovulated... more likely much closer to 4)

Congratulations! Yes, your baby has implanted. Implantation is what triggers hcg production which is what turns the test positive

Thanks ladies. That is what I thought, but the WTE said the fertilized egg is still traveling around! I am 3w3/5days depending on O date. No more reading that junk info!

its not really junk... most people do not implant early enough to have a bfp that early. You are just one of the lucky ones!

How many days you are are based on your first day of your last menstrual period. By the time you O you are usually around 2weeks. When your period is due again if your cycle is a 28 day cycle you would be 4w0d

Some smart ladies here will artificially adjust the numbers based on a known o date that differed from day 14, they are then still counting from LMP but a artificial one that is set at 14 days before their known O date. This correction if the o date is known for a fact, will make their due date acurate.

A egg usually implants 8-10 days after you O but can happen a few days before and after that window in ladies as well. You can usually get your first positive test on a sentive brand about 48 hours after implantation.

The last thing to remember is that the dating In books and online for how far into a pregnancy works in two ways

When they say you are 5w3d for instance they are talking about what has already happened, when they say you are in your 6th week, they are saying what you are going thru right now. Both these numbers describe the same timeframe. For me I am 10w4d and in my 11th week.
A good way to think about it is when you are 6 month old you are in your 1st year of life, since there is no zeroth year. ( this is the same thing that makes 2011 in the 21st century btw)

Does this help with some of all these strange numbers?
