Ticketed: Why is MDC running so slow?

Perhaps it is just me, but the last few days MDC has been crawling for me. All other websites pop right up, but any time I click a link to go to a new thread, post, etc it is like I am on dial up. Anyone else having this issue? I have been on 2 different connections too!

I'm having the same problem, I thought it was just my computer, but I havent had this happen before, other sites pop up quickly for me as well.

Yep, it's been happening for me too during the last couple of days. I also keep getting another format and have to hit refresh to bring the page up properly.

Seems like other forums I've been on like this, when a post gets too long, (like 15+ pages), it tends to slow the server so a new post is started. Maybe that happens monthly here? It is near a month-end.

For me this happens every time there is a certain ad running. I can't remember what it's for but it has children's blocks moving around. Every time that ad is up the smiles in people's sigs won't even run.

I just realized, the thing I wait for the most is adds. Usually, there's a great big add running down the middle of the screen. Sometimes, it never goes away and I can't read the thread I was trying to see. Oh well...

1 min 12 seconds for MDC to load, 17 seconds for this thread to load.

Yes, this new format is running so slowly that Idont have time to read through more than one thread.

Is there anything we can do?

Really slow and glitchy for me too. Sometimes when I try to scroll down it freezes for a few seconds then all of a sudden jumps down.

We are working through several of the issues that members are reporting and each time there is a fix or partial fix of an issue, that fix has to be applied to the site and that will cause slowness and some odd behaviors. It is a work in progress so we can expect to see this occur for awhile until all the bugs and oddities get worked out. As well, the database needs to be fine-tuned to our needs, our traffic, and our demands. So optimization settings are also being implemented and monitored. Hopefully we'll reach a point of smooth and steady once we get everything worked out.
