Sewing Pattern to modify for Wool-in-Two?

I actually haven't sewn any diapers yet, and have no patterns to do so, so I'm a super newbie!

LO is wearing flats now, at 6 weeks old, and I'm finding I prefer the wool covers so much I don't really want to sew anything with PUL or fleece.

I also think he might have skinny thighs. He's 10.25 lbs now and it's still tough to get a Thirsties or an Imse Vimse Bumpy Wool to close around his legs.

That being said, do you have suggestions for patterns and techniques for doing an AI2 with wool outer?

I was thinking of Jalie but it doesn't have an AI2 version; Darling Diapers does ... but then again I'm suspicious of anything without gussets.

And can I use any wool? I'm often in Portland OR, where there is a mill outlet. Small piecs of wool coating with flaws are super cheap.

I'm working on these too

Wool cover with snap in contour diaper (made of prefold mostly) I am very new to sewing and cloth diapering but I've never used anything with gussets and I've never had a blowout either. I am using free wool wrap (cover) instructions then modifying a prefold to fitted set of instruction to fit inside of the wool cover. Elastic on the wool and gathered legs on the contour.

You should be able to use pretty much any pattern you want. Just make sure it's a fuller cut to cover the snappi'd or pinned flats that you are using.

I make WI2's out of 95/5 Wool Interlock/Lycra blend that I get from Naturesfabrics.com

It is AWESOME and I LOVE it!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I guess I wasn't clear on what I'm wanting, might have the wrong name. I want to make an All-in-Two but with a wool cover. Very much like an all in one except the absorbent bit snaps into the cover instead of being sewn inside.

So no flat, prefold, contour, fitted, etc underneath.

I found what looks like a good pattern from Darling Diapers, it has an All In Two variation, and lots of clear instructions.

Yup! Just snap or lay an insert into the Wool Cover and it's an WI2 (wool-in-two!)

I have pics on my site. I'm pretty sure I know what your talking about =D

Just make a regular diaper out of wool fabric and add some snaps to the inside if you want the insert to snap-in!
