NT scan and gender guesses

If they "guessed" the gender at your NT scan, were they ultimately right?

We went for an NT scan a few weeks ago, and the baby was doing beautifully. The sono tech was able to make a guess at the gender. (The tech said they wouldn't mention anything to us unless they were pretty sure). I was about 13 weeks at the time. (For the record, I don't care what we have as long as the baby's healthy. I just want to know who's inside me).

Yes, they have always told me at my NT's and they have always been right (all 6 times.... )

I was given a guess when I had it done on Monday. It may be right, but it depends on how good the tech is. At 12 weeks, they all look the same to the untrained eye. Someone here gave me a link, and the sex organs are almost the same at 12 weeks. I'll know in another 8 weeks how right they are, but I was told and from the research I did online, they can be wrong.

An experienced tech I know said guessing gender at 12 weeks using the "nub theory" is about 50-70% accurate at best... but it's still fun!

They were right at mine, too.

They were right for dc3 (only one I had the scan for) - said dd b/c the nub was pointing down and they were right.

I had an NT at 12.5 weeks and the tech wouldn't offer a guess but the dr did. She was wrong!

I think it would be interesting to start a thread about this (or use this thread) to keep track to see if NT scan gender guesses turn out to be correct or not! With DS1 I didn't know about the nub theory, and with DS2 I never got a good shot so when I posted pics everyone said they couldn't see a nub. I will really try to get a good shot this time around!

To the OP: please let us know if your tech was right or not!
