Bac-Out is pretty awesome and does kill the bacteria on diapers. I reading...but I need a pretty much vinegar free cleaning reg. I guess I could use bac-out for everything except glass but it's expensive.

We use Shaklee cleaners around here and I love that they work and they are cheap too. The glass cleaner is great for finger prints and dog nose wipes off the windows. Plus the concetrate lasts forever. You can email me if you want some more info ajprosek@yahoo.com

What's the verdict on Simple Green? I was looking at a bottle recently & try as I might, I couldn't locate the ingredients on the label, though the product makes all sorts of claims.

I also use baking soda and dishsoap for the kitchen sink. I also have a vinegar and water sprayer, but I use a damp cloth in dish water for the countertops (maybe I'm just gross).

I do find for toilets and our crusty old un-refinished clawfoot that I need something a bit stronger than these. I use the method products (non toxic). They smell nice too. We have very hard water here so this may be some of it.

For the glass top stove I have a vileda scrubbing sponge specially made for the glasstops. You just wet it. I think it's the type of abrasive material that cleans rather than imbedded chemicals. On the other side it is microfibre.

Where did you get the scrubbing sponge for the glass top stove? I have the hardest time getting ours clean...

Just at the supermarket. It's a Vileda one. They come in 2 packs for about $4 and seem to last quite well. Takes a bit of muscle power, but works well and leaves streak free glass. Apparently you shouldn't use windex etc (not that that's not toxic) on them.

I am convinced the military housing people put glass top stoves in these houses just to make us crazy! I will look for the Vileda thing next time I am at the store.
