two baby girls[/B]. So much fun! (Although I must admit, with having a newborn again, TWO would scare me a bit...) Congrats to you. Keep us posted on names...
I think the good thing is I don't have anything to compare to so I have no idea how much more work 2 will be compared to 1 baby.

jessica: congrats on confirming the heartbeat! that's a big step!

LZP: seems like the contractions have subsided? here's hoping the baby hangs out for another couple of weeks!

WOW!!!! TWIN GIRLS!!!! Have you any names picked out?

Lisko- I didn't really do CD until Adelynn was about 6 weeks old. Before that she was just entirely too tiny! I would give it some time maybe, it does get easier, especially if the diapers you have are a bit too big.

Yep... I do not feel mine either most of the time, and when I do it is, as my doctor called it, a raging infection... to the point that no natural cure is going to help me before it hits my kidneys and I need the ABX.

Now, I just take cranberry pills EVERY day and try to drink enough water. Havent had one since I started doing that that I know of.

The doctor called (and emailed) last night, Caleb's enzyme level is in the normal range! He is still a carrier of Krabbe disease, but shows no evidence of being in ANY risk category for developing it. We will find out if DH & I are carriers in the next month or so.

So happy and relieved... it was such a scary couple of days, not knowing how serious Caleb's initial values were, and reading about the disease prognosis. I understand why the test is done (a well-known NFL football player's son in our area died of the disease, and he lobbied for the testing), as treatment needs to be instituted before symptoms start for it to be successful...

...yet, the unknown is awfully hard on the parents. (Especially us extremely hormonal postpartum mamas!)

For now we are quite happy, and ready to just "start over" (in a way) and enjoy Caleb!

Thanks for the CD input... I feel like the prefolds need to be folded down so much in front, they just fit sloppy, apart from the thigh issue. I am going to try out the Flips, as I have a good coupon from Cotton Babies, but won't give up just yet! (I just feel guilty, as I go through each package of sposies )...

Dont feel guilty, you just have to find your groove and the right diapers!

Im fully planning on having at least a few packs of sposies on hand to go through while we adjust to cloth diapering (because hormonal mommy will break down the first time she cant get that darn diaper to fit right... but stubborn mommy WILL try again next time!)

Yay Caleb! I'm so relieved and happy for you lisko!

LZP, I hope that you're quiet this weekend because you're enjoying your weekend... not because you're having more contractions! Hope all is well!

AFM, my momma came to visit this weekend and helped me get all of our baby clothes washed and put back away! And my cloth diapers are in the washer right now, waiting for the third wash (and for DH to get outta the shower so I can turn them on!).

Hope everyone is doing well (esp. Lisko- so glad your little guy is doing well!)

Finn is 10 weeks old and doing well- started out on the colicky side of things and is slowly working out of the fussiness. I'm (unhappily) returning to work a week from tomorrow and will be able to post pictures and lurk on you gals some more

that sounds right on. if you and DH decide to have more after, and have just one, it'll be a cake walk!

Wow! I am amazed to read that people dont feel them. Honestly, though, i've only ever had one,so it's not like i have many experiences to which I could compare.

Yay for getting things accomplished! Now you're all set, no? You've had your shower already, too, right?

Thanks for the update, Jelinifer, and so sorry that your time at home with Finn is coming to an end. uuuuuuggggghhhh. I am NOT looking forward to that part.

Lisko15, thank you for the update- and what WONDERFUL NEWS!!! that is just great. Now, I think you and DH get a Babymoon do-over.

Lyndzies- do the atbx seem to be helping at all with the backl pain? how are you doing? hope you took it easy this weekend, it was another hot one around here!

AFM, a busy weekend, thus my radio silence. I'm now a proud Godmother to an adorable little girl. Saturday I did get to sleep in, then cleaned, wrapped a present, and drove 1.5 hr to my aunts house for her b-day and my MOm-mom's b-day. it was a nice visit. DH had to leave the next morning at 4AM to get his flight to Vancouver, the LAST travel till baby comes, thank goodness!!!
This morning, I woke at 445. I've been waking at that time for about 2 weeks now, but generally I can fall back to sleep with NO issue after a trip to the potty. this morning, I couldnt fall back to sleep, bc I just *had* to vacuum the baby's room. While I was at it, I vacuumed our whole bedroom including the closet, under nightstands and bed, and baseboards. also vacuumed hallway, bathroom floor (also including baseboards in those places) and cleaned the whole bathroom - even including washing cabinets and mirror, and leaning over and cleaning around the bottom of the toilet. (eww.) Nesting anyone? I really wonder if that was the "burst of energy," or if it was a fluke.
I am having more ctx today along with lower back pain/stiffness and more low pressure than usual.... drinking lots of water and trying to keep baby in at least 2 more days so we're clear to birth at the FSBC. that's a "go" as of tomorrow, but DH isnt home till Weds night! stay in till Weds, please!!

Oh, I also changed our sheets, towels and added a waterproof pad on my side of the bed, and did 4 loads of laundry last night... AFTER being out all day at the Christening and dinner.

Im about to do this myself, my nesting is starting to kick in now, which is good... because every day I hurt a little worse and if I wait to do it... Im going to be yelling at DH to do it while I am in labor!

So tonight will be putting down waterproof pad, sheet, waterproof pad, sheet (having a homebirth and do not want to have to put a new sheet on, easier to just pull off the other sheet/pad)

Good thinkin' Mae. I thought of putting the waterproof pad UNDER our mattress pad, but then realized that i dont want to change the whole mattress pad and have to wash it and wait for it to dry while i'm in labor, on the off chance that my water breaks while i'm in bed...

so, it's on top of the regular mattress pad, under the sheet. (and since it's waterproof, it's not breathable... and it made me sweat last night. ugh. just what I need!!)

anywho, glad to hear that you're doing this stuff too, it definitely makes me feel like i'm not doing it too early then! i didnt really have a choice this morning, it was more of a compulsion than a choice to do all that housework. weird.

Once I hit 30 weeks its like a fires lit under my rear to get everything done I have been putting off.

I am super excited! I got some more prefolds and two diaper pail liners in the mail today!

Granted these prefolds are birdseye 3-ply and going to be used in my pocket diapers, not as diapers themselves! no way, with the way my little ones pee half their body weight each day, would that hold... and I would have to wash the covers every time!

but its still exciting! I now have 24 prefolds... with 17 different diapers/covers on their way... unless i bought more than that. TBH I do not remember.

lol.

ETA - DS just ran out and checked the mail... I also got my Snappis!

Now to borrow DDs biggest baby doll to try a prefold out... *evil laugh*

Hi all!

Lis, so glad everything turned out well with Caleb's testing. Also, I'm using Flips this time around with Albert (he definitely falls in the chunky category -- I almost punched my sister when she called him Fat Albert ). They fit well and he doesn't often leak out of them. I personally never liked prefolds because they just seemed TOO bulky.

I got my mothers day present finally!

SOOOO cute and sooooooo me!

LZP You got more accomplished today than I did, and I'm home all day! Just thinking about everything you've done makes me tired. I keep waiting and hoping for the nesting to kick in because our house needs it but alas, I am too tired to do anything. Though I did make dinner, wash our sheets, and bake homemade bread today. It only took me 8 hours to do that.

I have had my shower(s) and everything is sitting and ready, just waiting for a cute little baby to go in it!

Mae, I just got all our pockets stuffed today!! I am so excited. What sort of pocket/cover are you using for your prefolds?

AFM I am going crazy. I'm too tired to do anything so I just look at everything that needs to be done! And my mom is kinda driving me crazy. I know she's really excited for her granddaughter but she keeps telling me what to do and how to do it and it is really annoying me and I am afraid I'm going to say something that I'm going to regret if she keeps it up! ie: this weekend we went to Target and she told me I'd better get some pacifiers. Well, I was going to try to avoid the pacifier route but figured it wasn't worth $3.49 to get into my philosophies in the middle of Target.. so I got them. Then when we got home she mentioned packing the hospital bag and told me to remember to pack the pacifiers.. so then I *did* tell her that in no way should she be getting pacifiers before she's at least 4 weeks old! And of course she just sorta snickered like I have no idea how it's going to be, and that's true but neither does she! Every baby is different! I can always give her a pacifier if I need to, I can't take away giving her one to start with! And don't even get me started on the bottles/breastfeeding...

Anyway, thanks for listening.

I just meant what brand(s) did you choose to go with or are you making them?

We got Rocky Mountain one size pocket diapers.

colorbywords - I know the question was directed at Mae, but I'll get all excited when people start talking CD (I can't wait to try my hand at it!). We're planning to start with prefolds and Thirsties covers. Although I did also register for some Bum Genius OS AIOs and just received two sets of GroBabies AI2s.

Oh, and I here you about the crazy-making moms can cause. My MIL is doing the same. Not in a bad way, just that I can tell she's internally questioning every decision we make and statement we share about how we're planning to care for Cadence when she arrives. It can be maddening. Hang in there.

Mae - I LOVE the shirt! How absolutely PERFECT for you. Lol.

LZP - wow! I can't believe how close you are! You're almost full-term, woman! I'm glad it seems the baby will stay put for just a little bit more baking, though. That is some crazy nesting it seems you've got going. It hit for me a few weeks ago, though I've mostly been focusing on Cadence's space and not necessarily the whole house (YET!).

And, thanks for asking about me; update below.

lisko15 - Oh, SUCH SUCH SUCH good news! I'm so happy to ready your update, mama!

KellyTTC#1 - yay for two little girls!

jessica - the heartbeat is just about my most favorite thing, ever. Just two weeks ago when my midwife checked on Cadence, her and my hearts were beating in sync (of course, hers was twice as fast as mine. Lol!). It was really incredible.

AFM - I'm not sure if the antibiotics are really helping with my pain (though I hope they're clearing up the infection), but the chiropractor DOES really seem to be helping. I have been 5 times already and am currently on a 3x/week schedule until it seems like my body is holding the adjustments. I admit, I was super skeptical... but am so SO happy that my pain has lessened so much. It's getting costly, but it's definitely worth it to have found some relief. You were totally right, Mae. Thanks for the encouragement that there was some relief to be had.

I went to the hospital birth center last Friday for my Rhogam injection. I was admittedly squicked out by it, but it's over and I was a brave girl. I totally deserved a lollipop (I HATE HATE HATE shots... haven't had one since '99 and had a bad reaction to it). This time, I did have a fever afterward, but it's gone now and I'm no worse for the wear. It was nice to hang out at the hospital birth center for a bit, getting acclimated to the environment and getting to know the nurses a little better. I have a good vibe that we chose the right place to give birth. And, I'm all pre-registered there now, so one more logistical to-do to cross of the list!

What else??? Oh, I finished the crib mobile I was working on! I am SO SUPER PROUD of it, and just had to share some pics. I know she will likely not use it for awhile, but everyday I love Cadence's room more and more. I just want to hang out in there. Our awesome glider is being delivered on Friday, so I just might! Of course, our cat Ra thinks that the baby's room is his room, and that everything we're doing in there (particularly the mobile) is especially for him.

Little Prince (as we sometimes call him) is in for a rude awakening come October, methinks. Lol!

Last but not least, I think I am starting to have Braxton Hicks. Feels like a tightening, and not unlike mild menstrual cramps. Only happened twice last night, and baby is still active and bouncing around, so I can only assume that's what it is.

Only 9 weeks till full term! Eeeep! Them's single digits, y'all!

Lyndzies, I'm glad you're feeling some relief!

We probably should have gone the prefolds + covers route as it seems less complicated than I thought it would be if you just fold the prefold into the cover and put it on, but I am very happy with our cute little pockets too! I've heard mixed reviews about the BG! I'd love to know how they work out for you. What size do they start fitting at? We're using disposables until Emery fits into the diapers though at the rate she's growing, she may fit into them at birth.

Also, beautiful mobile! I love how you thought about how it would look from baby's point of view. I can't wait to see pictures of the completed nursery. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what sort of camera do you use to take pictures? My DH and I have been researching cameras.
