Trying to Conceive #1

AutumnLaughing~32, TTC #1 since June of 2008, PCOS + possible endo, clear HSG, using progesterone cream, DH ambivilent due to unemployment.

Blueyezz4~Unexplained Infertility; TTC “#1” which is really #3 after losing #1 & #2 (twin boys at 22.5wks on 6-20-09 conceived after trying for 3yrs). We are back to ART gonal F and trigger shot/IUI. Fingers crossed!!

indianagrl~35, DH also 35. TTC #1 since 10/08 with hypothyroidism, possible other hormone imbalance.

fierrbug Tiara (33), DH (34) – TTC #1 since 2001, 3 mc’s. Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency (AGHD) which relates to other hormone/insulin/egg quality issues + some clotting properties. In limbo awaiting a miracle to get GH injections in conjunction with a future IUI.

stretch358~TTC since Aug. 08 with hashimoto's thyroiditis. Other than that the RE says Unexplained Infertility.

Tear78~TTC #1 since 5/2008. Two m/c in 2008/9, laparoscopy/hysteroscopy to remove endometroid cyst in 2010. Trying IUIs with breaks in between when necessary.

ladylaura~Laura, 25, TTC#1 since May 2007, using donor sperm b/c of husband's genetic defect.

shesaidboom~Nikki, 26, TTC #1 since '07. Have lost three. Taking Metformin for PCOS. Finished one cycle of Provera. Waiting to follow up with Endocrinologist.

InGodsHands- Me:30 Mild Endo, Possible PCOS; DH: 32 Perfect except for low morphology. TTC #1 since March 08. Currently doing 2nd IUI with femera/follistim/trigger. Hoping for a miracle!

Milletpuff~34, TTC #1 since April '09 with two early losses. Me: no bad results in the first rounds of testing, hoping to get some testing for info on losses. DP: shooting blanks cos she's a female. Trying with known donor in Europe, next cycle in August

simplymere~ pregnant once 2 years ago, lost pregnancy. Trying Clomid for the first time now, due to not feeling sure about having medical help. Did have moderate endometriosis removed Febuary 2009. Overall a frustrating journey.



Trying To Conceive #2


Minkajane~ Mandy (pcos) & DH(low SA and poor morphology) TTC#2 since June '08. 4 months failed Femera/Ovedril cycles 2 were w/ IUI!



Trying To Conceive #3


zanelee- TTC#3 for 4 years now. Secondary IF due to cervical cancer surgery, and possibly non-care from doctor at that time. May have other issues now related to the non-care. (Trying not to be bitter) Dh SA is great. Have our first RE appt. next week. Praying!



Taking a Break


MoOnFiReGlOw TTC #4 since April 2009 (14 cycles). MFI due to medications that cannot be changed. Hoping for a miracle

MrsD08~Samantha 24, DH 31, TTC Baby D. #1 since September 2009 with male factor infertility. Saw a new Urologist 2/23 and 4/18. He does not want to proceed with ANYTHING until we get a SA....UGHHHHHH! First RE appt. 7/14!

Thoughts: None really. We just got done with a HUGE move up to a much higher elevation so right now I'm just trying to unpack and BREATH!! We had a long talk on the way over here (we moved over 1k miles away from our old place) and we are just going to let things go and see what happens naturally. My body knows how to conceive and if it isn't right now than it must not be ready and I don't want to force it

Thoughts: A little frustrated right now with my body. We just finished our 3rd IUI cycle and it didn't work so we have a meeting with one of the IVF nurses on July 19th to find out what kind of testing we need to have done ( (some blood work, and some kind of saline U/S and who knows what else) and we will go from there. I still have a bit of hope (not sure why, but I do) that maybe we will catch an egg on our own before we have to go through with the IVF. Wishful thinking, I guess!!!!

I know what you mean about feeling ridiculous. I can't believe how much hope I build up over a cycle still! I mean it hasn't happened for over a year for me, so why would this month be any different? But I still get excited every 2ww hoping this one is the last one! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that the IVF plans aren't needed

And FYI Do not use Melatonin! It's considered an oral contraceptive and I didn't find out until after 4 months of using it! Men shouldn't use it either, it can lower sperm quality.

Thoughts: Very tired of trying! Have been gone from the boards for quite a while because I just couldn't handle it anymore. We had two failed monitored cycles, and one failed IUI. The clomid was making me crazy and emotionally I just couldn't handle it. Now we are just trying things naturally and I am focusing on getting my weight down. Also getting the house in order to put on the market, so that eat's up a lot of "pity party" time

Right there with ya hun. We decided to just 'let things go' this Summer at least and probably for the rest of our time ttc and I didn't realize how much I needed the break! I hope the break is relaxing and rejuvenating for you!!

I'm trying to loose some weight over here too...somehow over the year of trying I've gained 50lbs!!! I couldn't believe it! I could have already stood to lost a good 70lbs so now I need to loose a person I know it isn't effecting my fertility as I've been pregnant at a higher weight than I am right now, but I know it isn't helping and with dh's mfi issues it may be just the advantage we need to finally conceive! If you need anyone to keep you accountable or to talk to about weight loss I'd totally be willing to talk!

I'm on CD5 and day 3 of Clomid 100mg, because we're out of town for a week and I can't do the every other day appointments needed for injections. I'm an emotional ball of mess. Is that the Clomid? HELP!

Probably is the clomid. I hate that stuff! Please tell me injectibles are easier in that aspect. Hope you feel better and have a great vacation!

Oh I so know about the deep hole of depression. I'm not sure if I told this board, but my dh's SA results came back and they were VERY bad. Basically the meds he is on for his back alter the protein on the head of the sperm that is needed for penetrating the egg. So we have basically no chance of conceiving till he can get off these meds, which won't be for a while. Needless to say when we got this news I took a tailspin into depression.

My hubby was actually the one who cheered me up. He told me that it may look pretty bleak now, but it only takes one sperm that made it through healthy to make our lil'one. That and he said that we won't stop trying no matter how long it takes I love that man!

YES...injectibles are far easier (except for sticking yourself with needles and bi-daily appointments). I didn't feel side effects from them. Man, I'm a NUTCASE! I bet you'll love the injectibles....it's kind of like a little science experiment. lol...

MFG, that must have been really hard to deal with. I'm glad that your DH helped you climb out of your depression. I know it's super expensive, but with IVF they actually inject the sperm into the egg, so wouldn't that get around this obstacle? Just a thought...

Thoughts: Boobs hurt since 3dpo (not normal for me, attributing it to the extra progesterone produced by 4 corpus lutem. Tiredness, nausea and headaches attributed to it being near 100 over the weekend. ugh and the weather will continue like this for the week. At least I am back to work in the ac.

I called a fertility clinic based out of Boston that has an office in Portland, Maine. I called Friday and left a detailed message with the patient relations lady. She called back early this afternoon to get more details, then told me she'd call back after talking to the doctors. I expected a call later in the week or early next week. She called back in about 2 hours to let me know there were 2 openings next week and she was hoping we could get into one of them! Yay!! It's sad we have to take the next step and go see an RE, but I am glad we're at least taking a step somewhere!

The doctor we're seeing also works in MA. Is there anyone here going to Boston IVF, any location? What can we expect at our first appointment?

In case you're not familiar with our situation--it's for male factor infertility, basically unexplained at this point.

So I started to get TONS of ewcm this morning! We dtd yesterday morning and hopefully I can convince dh the pain isn't really that bad so we can dtd one more time and hopefully be in the fertile window for O

Another positive thing is that there *may* be an alternative medication for dh to take instead of the one that has been causing the sperm issues w/him The doc said he would talk about it with him at his next appt. (also the 14th lol) so hopefully we can switch meds so we can get back to better SA numbers!!

I was so excited about the appointment I forgot to mention all of it!
The woman who called me back also said that the doctor thought it was ridiculous that they were trying to get a SA when DH doesn't ejaculate most of the time. So, at least it seems like he'll understand more! Do you think that's the RE aspect?

Also, I'm trying to lose weight too. I've lost 10 pounds since June of '09. I wish it were going faster, but one of the meds I am on causes weight gain. The doctor thinks 10 pounds in a year is pretty good, so I guess I'll take it! I'm thinking about WW. I did TOPS for a little while, but it didn't have enough support for me.

Hi Ladies:

I'm here still (posted on june thread - ) - but still in limbo. Waiting to see if the GH manufacturer will approve us for discounted or free GH injections. I haven't been taking my meds or charting this cycle - I keep killing my basal thermometers. It's really annoying. In the mean time started spotting yesterday - cd36 technically? I have sore boobs and have been getting very nauseous for the last oh, 4 days or so. I am being a huge chicken and scared to poas. I have been running 33-34 day cycles lately. I know I should run and get an hpt, but I'm just so scared that it's going to be a bfn (AGAIN!!!!!!!) or that it will be a bfp and maybe I'm mc'ing again? I know paralyzed in fear is stupid. But that's me right this sec. I suppose I'll probably go run and get a hpt tonight after I write this paper for school.

I knew that iui would hurt more than the others, doing all those shots, knowing there are that many follicles. You're so sweet for thinking of me, I think of you often too. I never know what to say ofcourse, cause it all sucks, and isn't fair. But, I'm definitely here, and I know someday, somehow you'll get your happy ending.

So, random question - has your husband ever had the dna fragmentation test?

That sounds promising hun! I can't wait to see pics of the test I know what you mean about being scared to test though. The one month I got all excited about being late and it just so happens that I had a random 46 day cycle So I completely understand being scared! I look forward to your update reguardless of the outcome!
