Horrible diaper rash - help!

Every few weeks/months my daughter gets horrible, raging, out-of-control diaper rash. How in the world do we control it?

First thing we do is switch to disposable diapers, as cloth seems to make it worse. We've also tried:
-fleece liners in our diapers (we use prefolds and covers
-baby powder
-Desitin/A&D ointment
-hair dryer set to cool to make sure she's completely dry before putting a diaper back on
-coconut oil
-prescription Nystatin cream

It gets really red (and sometimes bumpy) very quickly. I thought she was over it and switched back to cloth diapers, and in less than four hours, it was back full force. Before we ask the doctor for something stronger, I wanted to make sure we've exhausted all other options.

Wash all the diapers with Tide free and clear ( or whatever it's called) wash them in hot, maybe 2x and wash once with no soap.

I think you might have a yeast in your diapers and that's why the rash keeps coming back.

I had the same problem until I switched to Tide. I loathe buying a commercial product like Tide, but we tried everything "clothy" to rid the diapers of the yeast. (vinegar, baking soda, boiling, and who knows what else)

Also, if you can, find some dried calendula and make some calendual oil. Just get a jar and put the flowers in it and cover them with evoo. I swear by this for all kiddy skin troubles.

Have you tried some sort of bentonite clay? You can get it at a health food store.

I really like California Baby calming diaper cream. We use coconut oil for rashes usually, but this last time it wasn't cutting it. I too think we have to strip our diapers.

have you looked at what you and she are eating to see if something you're eating is causing it?
