Green, eco-friendly bedding that's best for those with seasonal allergies?

We just purchased a fort bed for my ds used from dh's coworker and she also threw in a mattress with the bed frame, but we will eventually be getting an organic mattress when we save up some more money, but in the meantime what is the best type of bedding=comforter, blankets, pillows etc. to use? It seems most blankets have polyester filling, is that our only option besides down or wool? I would really like to get a nice thick comforter for his bed, and for now he will be using his old regular blanket until i can find something else. While he is into some character toys, toy story etc. He really wouldn't care what is on his comforter, and a plain one would work just as well and we could do more of a theme with his curtains, etc. I am thinking solar system or dinosaurs atm.

He does have some seasonal allergies, only mild and normally in the fall, but i would really like something that may help his symptoms that is also mostly or 100% natural.

thanks

If you look for quilts instead of comforters, you can usually find them made of 100% cotton. I would get something machine washable so that you can wash it frequently--that's probably the best for his allergies.
