Preschool Spanish Curriculum?

Anyone know of any good ones that are not super expensive?

Dd is only 3, so no worksheets etc..

I do speak/write/understand Spanish fairly proficiently (at least I did a few years ago, but I'm sure I would pick it back up quickly-nowhere near fluent though).

Any ideas would be appreciated, I always had the goal of having my kids be bilingual, but slacked badly for these past three years

I know the Homeschool Buyers Co-op is doing foreign language month right now. I didn't look closely at it, but one of the curriculums they had was geared toward pre-k/k. You might check that out. I'd say at that age the easiest way, though, is talking to them in the target language. I'm just learning Spanish myself, but the more I learn, the more my four year old learns. Childrens' books in Spanish are a big hit for us, too, as well as Dora and Diego (the Spanish versions, not the English versions) and Plaza Sesamo - if you do TV.

If you do screen time, what about Pocoyo? It's pretty mellow and low key, easy to follow along, produced here in Spain. I've been blown away by how much Spanish my 2 yo has picked up from watching things along with her big brother and have noticed that the 2-4 yos in my life are much more open to watching things regardless of language. After that they seem to shut down more.

Songs are great... We like a lot of the multicultural stuff put out on the Putumayo label and Dan Zanes has at least one Spanish song on every album, plus another that's all in Spanish with a great line up of guest musicians. It's easy to find yourself singing along with these.

We're a multilingual household which has meant that all out early children's lit has been read in multiple languages. What if you bought a few simple books that you are already familiar with in Spanish for reading aloud? Then maybe others could read it in English... am thinking of stuff like Eric Carle books, Goodnight Moon, etc.

While we do it in English (our minority language), I think that PBS Kids Island has a Spanish option as well.

I am so excited to have just found this: http://www.progressivelanguage.com/index.php

It is based in Albuquerque. They have dvd, cd, and activity/story books that are all inter-related. If you want a classroom curriculum, they even have that. Having read through the books sections they have online and the demo dvd and songs, I think this is just what I've been looking for. I hope you'll like it, too.

Here's something else I found. You can buy these at amazon.com. They're total immersion: http://www.whistlefritz.com/index.html

There's always Salsa www.gpb.org/salsa. There's a way to view it online by checking on www.gpb.org/digitallibrary and searching for Salsa. You may want to try and convince your public television station to air it!

This looks interesting. I did a search. When I click on an episode it doesn't play. I've emailed gpb, but I'm wondering if you know how to make it work.

ETA: I did a google search. Sounds like you can streamline it for free if you are a Georgia educator. You can buy it for about $1,000.
