Hello!

I have removed some posts because they were discussing another board. I am sorry we cannot host such discussion.

Thanks!

Someone earlier mentioned being sweaty. I'm not sweating too much because we have central air but even with that I'm super warm sometimes. I'll go upstairs and think the AC's busted and it must be 90*, but nope, it's the same old 76* it always is. Outside it's unbearable for me. I figured it was the hormones.

She's been grabbing at my food but I don't think it's out of true interest in the food, more wanting to grab whatever she can reach and wanting to do what I'm doing. I'm going to follow her lead on solids and once I think she's ready I'll give her simple stuff in pieces she can handle. She can't sit up unassisted yet so I don't think I'll be comfortable for a bit here. Our doctor also is adamant about avoiding solids until at least six months for BF babies.

I used to want to have my kids spaced closely but now I'm pretty sure I want to make it more substantial. I don't think I'd say Elsa is high needs but she does seem to need almost constant attention even now. I can't imagine having another baby, especially one like her, while she's just a toddler. Plus I don't want to rush her babyhood. I'm thinking I'd like to avoid having another until she's over two, hopefully closer to three.

It's official, Elsa can sit on her own! I am super impressed with her, of course - even though in the grand scheme of things sitting at 4.5 months doesn't mean anything.

We had a wonderful day exploring the city, hope everyone else did too!

We still don't have unassisted sit here (5 mo), but we now have a highchair!!! It's soooo pretty and now sitting in my kitchen waiting for the day we can start BLW.

(we actually have had a highchair for months, but it's now assembled as of this morning)

DS cannot sit unassisted yet, he is so close! Way to go Elsa! DS had his mini first lick of food lol. I was eating a soft pretzel with DH at the mall and DS dive bombed it with his mouth. He was in the Ergo with his arms down so it looked even funnier. He didn't get any off but I let him kind of mouth it for a second or two. He definitely wanted more and enjoyed the little bit he tasted! NOT what I expected for a first food lol. He is showing so many signs of readiness in the past week....pincer grasp, super interest in food, increased nursing, chewing motions, sitting up better. I think we might try something this next week.
Oh, and now he kind of army style scoots. He pulls with his arms and then kind of has the hang of one leg to move around. So cute!

L. slumps / is a leaner. I have this soft baby seat that attaches to the table that I set up the other day. She enjoyed sitting in it for a few minutes (assisted with a chest strap, but then she gets tired...all that effort to sit up. On the ground, when I sit her down, she has her tummy laying on her legs. Eventually she rolls over. BUT I think she has realized that sitting could be advantageous.

She loves food, she gets to lick my fingers and try stuff. She grabs onto my finger and sticks it in her mouth and sucks away and insists on more. (blueberry smoothie)

I am still over-heating. ugh.

AND, she slept through the night, 2 nights in a row! She goes to sleep around 9:30 pm and woke up around 6am to nurse. And then more sleeping. This would be great, except I AM awake at midnight and then again at 3, wondering whats going on!

We adopted a cat.

aww man, I wish I'd known nicole! I have two adult cats that I need to get adopted before we move to NY!
I am now a Diva cup user! I think I like it. It is comfortable and I like the low impact on the environment. I don't quite have the hang of it enough to do it quickly so it seems a little like a hassle but it has only been one day. I'm bummed to have my period back regularly now. oh well:P

Always been curious about the diva cup. I think I read it comes in different sizes. How do you know which one to buy?

Linchi, there are only two - one for if you haven't haven't had a baby (including c-section) and are younger than 30, and one if you are over 30 or have had a baby. I think I'm going to try one when my period comes back.

I'm going to start the August thread if no one else has yet.

He's a kitten, not an adult cat - I don't think DH would be happy with an adult. Plus NC to OH is a little far to drive.

Post a link if you move the thread, please.
