I went today to our large downtown Farmer's Market. While there, fat boy got hungry and sleepy and so I found a bench and sat down to nurse him. I saw a man across the way giving me dirty, dirty looks and making comments to a lady he was with. Then I saw him grab a Knoxville police officer and start talking to him, gesturing in my direction. After a few minutes, I saw another officer walk up and they both started talking to the man, shaking their heads and gesturing in my direction. Shortly thereafter, they walked off and the man and woman grabbed up their stuff and stormed away, looking very angry.
I feel certain that the man was complaining about me and that the police told him that I had every right to be there and nurse my baby and there was nothing they could or would do about it. It made me feel good about my city.
