bulk buying storage??

I am not sure where to put this.

I am thinking about buying 33lbs of organic sugar cane (through azure) I am also thinking about getting one of the food safe 5 gallon plastic buckets with the gamma seal lid to store it in. But is it all going to fit? How much is not going to fit?

I'd be inclined to just use a small Rubbermaid bin, though I have no idea if they're technically food safe.

I think 5 gallons shold come close to fitting. Do you use a canister for sugar that's accessible to put the let-over in?

hmmm, well my storage space is set up to work very well with the 5 gallon bucket (that I know is supposed to be food safe) so I would much rather not go with a different size and shape container if possible for the bulk storage, kwim?

I generally keep sugar in the kitchen in a somewhat small jar that is about the size of a peanutbutter jar. I would have room for one or maybe 2 of those . . .

25 lbs will generally have a bit leftover that won't fit. I usually just pop the leftover into a rubbermaid container until I get to using it. It isn't that much that won't fit.
