I will be starting Wellbutrin on Tuesday and I have already been on Zoloft (yuk!) and Lexapro, which wasn't bad but I gain too much weight! Anyway, I am hoping to find some success with Wellbutrin...anyone have any experience with it? Thanks.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I was on it about four years ago during a bout of depression, not ppd. It seemed to work ok and I didn't have side effects. Now that I'm on lexapro, I realize it works much better for me. Everyone is different and I've heard the new Wellbutrin XL is good.

wellbutrin works for me
Hi,I've been on Wellbutrin for a couple months and I feel much better. The hardest part, is that you start feeling side effects before you start feeling less depressed. I had a constant, but slight dull headache for the first week or so, and it also messed up my sleeping. For a while I was waking up after 5 hrs of sleep no matter when I went to bed. I could only get back to sleep about half the time. I didn't really start feeling good for about 3 weeks.
My doc recently changed my dosage from 150 twice a day, to 200 in AM and 100 in PM and that has eliminated the sleep problems!
Overall, I have better concentration, more motivation, less of that "oh my god look at all the stuff i have to do, how am i ever gonna handle this" feeling. The To Do List in my head just feels so much more managable. And I don't get anxious and weepy over every single thing (just every third thing or so! lol)
Good luck with it, if you try it. It doesn't work for everyone, but for me it's been just what I needed to take the edge off.

I have been taking it for two months now for ppd (mostly an anxiety that would peak once a month). Dealt with yucky side effects for the first week: a tingly feeling in my legs, like the nerves were just ready to jump and sometimes did, and two nights of not being able to sleep at all. I'd wake up after two hours and not sleep the rest of the night. I still occasionally have a night with little sleep, but usually only if I'd had to really get up for something (a half hour of cleaning up my ds's bloody nose at 1:00 a.m. did me in).
Otherwise it's been great for my anxiety. I'm on the lowest dose of the XL and doing great. Let us know how it goes. There's a website called www.depressionforums.com that has info on just about every antidepressant that's also been a great source of info for me.
